Silence Chooses Us

May we be blessed to understand
there are times in our life
when we may feel bewildered and nonplussed….
when we might not choose silence
but silence chooses us.

Lost and Found

It’s definitely maybe possible
that she hated to love me so much
Her affection found everything missing
—and distressed her elation nonplussed

The Almighty Dollar

There once was a venerable scholar
Who was asked 'bout the worth of a dollar
   He replied, nonplussed
   "It's in God we trust"
George Washington's sly grin on his collar

Symbiosis

Our symbiosis
Is an apotheosis
In what is best about us

Metamorphosis
Into metempsychosis
Will leave each of us nonplussed

The Rebel Poet

There was a young poet named Peter
Who struggled with rhyming and meter
Forever nonplussed
He gave up in disgust
And said, “I can say anything and everything I choose in the last line.”

How Deep

how deep the cut, the pain is but, camoflague for the sanity, be strong and just, don't look nonplussed, as it bruises of the vanity.... re "Salts of Insanity" Russell Sivey Don

Prison of Flesh

Prison Of Flesh

Pregnant and constipated
Gagged
Asphyxiated
Want to jump out of my skin
Nonplussed and exasperated
Black bagged
Unenumerated
Everything is without
And I am locked within

Rust

Some sages struggled and discussed
Protective ways to battle rust.
The answer came from every brain:
Do not leave iron in the rain!

Though some may scoff and will, I trust,
The scholars will remain nonplussed;
For simple wisdom we may gain
From words that rusty saws contain.

Xertz

Every body in hall was surprised why she was rushing to the table to grab the glass of water while huffing, gulping down quickly to quench thrust, asking for more, they were nonplussed; Gulping quickly known as Xertz; its unusual but gushing. ~X~X~X~

Is It Too Late

Why such disgust on our last date?
I earned your trust; you made me wait
by piles of rust outside your gate.
Lie in the dust of your own hate,
sigh if you must, ruing your fate.
Spy me nonplussed under such weight
cry in a gust, a stormy spate.
My cause is just - is it too late?

Spice of Life

As I explore the outer space,
And make connections, introspections
Nonplussed, but given to the chase-
The Fate of Fools’ directions!

Too much I’ve asked! And too late, perhaps
When I am taken to the task
How long I wrought, how strong I fought,
To never see the Truth to pass...

Representatives Resent Us

So many speak of ‘our democracy’
though it seems representatives resent us

They blithely vote for their party’s agenda
then when questioned, they act nonplussed

We keep electing the same ones over and over
the familiar’s more comfortable than the unknown

So much ‘for the people’ in ‘our democracy’
~ who don’t really deserve it, you see

Lambent Maze Nomad

Lambent
Lychee leaf lambent
lilac layered loadstone ledge
lachrymose lagoon

Maze
Milky moonlight maze
mystic marvel magnet moults
magic mother’s muse

Nomads
Nightingale nurtures
nonplussed nomads nestling near
nascent neon nooks

Cheers For the Canadahoodians

Have a blast to celebrate the past
One hundred and fifty sure went fast
A tip of my brew
To you and you too
A flock of fine friends unsurpassed

If you happen to visit the lower forty-eight
States, busy becoming re-great
Ignore the dust
We're nonplussed.
Oh, and thanks for not closing the gate

Though we may close ours — build a wall!
Majestic and mighty and tall
Keep your sanity
Ignore our inanity
While politely watching us fall

Intuition Light

Where darkness reigns ,
The door is shut,
Let in the light,
Intuition says, yes But,
Unfasten the ether door,
blockage eye of third abhor,
2 really see you must,
This aint a metaphor,
Just take it with some trust,
There stands the open portal door,
all covered in some rust,
Use wd40 4 bloody sure,
All seeing and nonplussed?
Or too frightening jammed shut!
User friendly, isnt more,
Gate-keeper its your door,
Unused the fearsome ****.

Melancholy

MELANCHOLY
gliding on the wind
lost in thought
totally
     unreal
inconsolable
nonplussed
lackng
the
   banal

a brief allusion
  yet
the infinite
almost
   gained

THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE without grammatical symbols the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' & so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and respond thus making the form a two way interplay and often a unique interpretation by the enigma so derived

Christmas gifts - 2

Knowing the truth of Christmas gifts’ what’s what,
He tells Santa, I’ve nothing what so sought,
Forget all my wish list,
Let me now clear some mist:
I’ll be thankful, whatso you give, or not.

Poet’s note: This is a sequel to ‘Christmas gifts’. Realizing the futility of hoping to get things from his wish list, Dennis has this to say to old Santa when his turn came. No need to say, Santa was nonplussed.
