I am here
  but not here

I am there
   but not there

I am somewhere
but never where I'm supposed to be
but never whom I'm supposed to be

Not really here
not really there

Stargazing

Day gives way to night
The darkening skies
Come alive

Magic flecks across the dark
Twinkling to their tune
Music unsung

A canvas built on dreams
Vibrating with wishes
Secrets told

Glimpsing into the unknown
Neither here nor there
Just being

Allusion

Phantom reflection
a flickering image of
intangible self

Neither here nor there
an undetected presence
dwelling in shadows

Neither in nor out
of this worldly existence
a fleeting remnant

An apparition
in a deepening twilight
without remembrance
Form: Haiku

Roses

Roses, roses, everywhere
Roses in the garden to spare
Roses planted in a row
Roses covered by the snow
In winter sits the rosebush bare
Waiting in the frozen glare
If there’s one thing that we know
As soon as seasons come they go
Now roses neither here nor there
Will soon be roses everywhere.

Dreams of Moonlight

Beams cast silver hues
Everlasting crescent moon
Rise to fill the night
Bathing the dark in star light
Gazing into Heaven's eye

Reflections mirrored
Neither here nor there but one
Breathtaking in form
Caressing the dreamers dreams
Reaching for more than the stars

For Tracie's Moonlight Dreams contest

The Beginning or The End
 Has become the same shade....

Lost in shadows of the Yin and Yang
Gray is the juice that fills my veins.....

Blessed with a Innocent Heart
 Only to Beaten... Fluttered ....Pounded.....

Sustain me according to your promise...
 And I will live....
Do not let my hopes be dashed.....
  ~Psalms 119:116~

Empty Vessel

I was a little upset,
a bit sad today,
the love I once felt
had faded away.
Gone was the passion,
Gone was the lust.
Blown away in the wind,
like specks of dust.
My emotions are stagnant,
neither here nor there.
My heart is empty,
I just don't care.
I am an empty vessel
on a silent sea.
Time to recover now
and find the real me.

Inspired By Zen

May all my hopes and fears dissolve into timeless truth,
May they melt away and trouble be no more,
Let my inner mind gleam, and beam wisely and bright,
And my heart abide neither here nor there but
Arise from anywhere and nowhere!

-Poem inspired by the Shurangama and the Diamond Sutra (Zen)

Sultry Seductions

Indulge in sultry seductions senses
Stirred embers almost intoxicating
Plunge deeper into fantasy's abyss
Slipping further still; becoming

Neither here nor there; only
Raw emotions essential to being
United through wants; desires
With promises of clouds in Heaven

As day surrenders under the moon
A gem of poetic proportions
Orgasmic visions distorting facts
Delicious dreams of seduction

The Waiting

What would you say?
Of these passing days spent in tears
Of distant hopes that have only faded blue thru the years

What would you say?
Of dreamt dreams colored in dread
Of tiny hearts growing black save for the red

What would you say?
Of jaded eyes which now can only view truths so sheer
Toward a light that shouts but one can never hear

What would you say? If I’m neither here nor there

Deny

How nothing this illusion of concern
that I am neither here nor there ~
still gathering some memories return
and yet, vague knowing, nothings stare.

It's but monotony, undressed
to give a bed to fate's complex
so destiny can choose
with its duress!

That last goodbye
a choice between two suns
yet never gathering again the sky
. . . it was my loss of you ~

    Yet loving with . . . deny!

ORPHAN WORLD

Different worlds
Different times
Growing up
In our minds

Neither here nor there
Ambivalence reigned
Father ruled
Mother gained

No holding
No cuddling
Sin running
Reason befuddling

Sickness and disease
Chaos ordered in line
Six days left
To leave it all behind

What's ahead
More of the unknown
Just a basket of fruit
Showing how creation has grown

I see you as you really are a shadow, a ghost. No substance, just an empty shroud. Where did our love go after all of these years? Perhaps you occupy a different dimension. Neither here nor there, in multiple places at once. Schrodinger’s cat has nothing on you. I try to touch you, but my hand returns empty. All of the promises you made are nothing but a hollow form.

SILENT WITNESS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the sun, a molten coin, descends, and he, a shadow lengthening, holds his breath. he feels the earth turn, a slow, relentless dance, and wonders of his place within the spin. the sky bleeds crimson, then bruised purple, and he, suspended between light and dark, is neither here nor there, but simply is, a silent witness to the fading day.

If Only I Open My Eyes

Neither here nor there

The mind stuck in time

Floating through

Drifting

Reaching

Stretching to touch

Unarmed

Vulnerable

Exposed

Yet I am the only one that can see and feel

Flashes of a glimpse

Trapped in a vision

A million or more of emotions

Feelings rush to change

But I don’t want to.

Set Free

I thought the previous version was a little too long, I feel that this shorter one captures the essence with less story.
<><><><><><><><><><> A place to belong, Neither here nor there Shadows of one's self, to shy from scrutiny Aching heart, Unbearable thoughts In its murkiest depth, A little child, crying "Where is my peace?" Cries to be set free. <><><><><><><><><><>

The In-Between

At the edge of sleep,
Neither here nor there,
Rests the in-between
Of Shadow dreams
More real than those
Of slumbering.
In twilight time
A voice cries out
A warning shout
Or message rare
From thoughts caught there.
Perhaps the soul
A spirit free
Goes wandering
So near to sleep.
Released from day,
Untied to night,
Drifting, shifting
In mid-flight
Ghosts await
There in-between,
Where my regrets
Or sweetest things,
Find life again.

Yonder

The yonder seems so far away
I have no need to go.
It isn't that there's nothing there,
for that I'm sure would show.

In time I'll get to where I'm going.
The end too far to see.
With yonder neither here nor there
continued on with me.

The circle at the end of time
where everything's together.
To view what's called eternity
and look on to forever.

An ending for the world to turn
and spin around in time.
Horizons with the far off way
to say that it's just I'm.
