Last golden Sun drop
licked by the deep blue mountains,
ocean's blue thirsty
now,for twilight's golden dew;
blue sky turning to pure gold.

Watching the blue sky
Snow egrets are out of sight
Graceful birds are my delight
Great blue heron’s flight
One is grey the other white
Cotton in the wind blows by

A golden glow through Willow

Diminishing as day flies

Butterfly floating
Southern Blue Swallowtail Lays
Love on Meadow Rue
Soon caterpillars
Stinking like skunk munch and munch
Meadow Rue for lunch
The air is filled
Miniture blue sailing off
To mate for their day
her blue bikini
matches the blue of her eyes
sets off her black hair
reveals her perfect physique
as she runs along the beach

For Francine's Blue contest: Beach
Oh Mr Blue Tit
How sweetly you sit
When into my garden
You pleasantly flit
Oh Mr Blue Tit
With your coat so blue
Take care in the garden
A cat is watching you
Oh Mr Blue Tit
You have seen it
As from my garden
You urgently flit
Form:
Golden sun rise up
Barely beyond water's edge
I try not to peek
Yesterday's blue ocean waves
Leave me sunburned and sore

Blue And Gold THEME
NATURE'S TANKA
Clouds flounder in the sky,
the vast blue stretching into the ocean
where they collapse into one another,
eliminating the horizon from the view
of the naked eye.
Upon the first Frost of the season,
shades of blue fade to grey-
and the horizon remains hidden
beneath the infinite haze of mortal vision.

Great Blue Heron stood
Thin as a flat toothpick split
Camouflaged sky-blue
Waits in knee deep blue water
Silently creeps jolt attack
so blue the river
that meanders through my thoughts
as I remember
summers when a golden sun
wrapped itself around our love
skies once winked blue eyes
sun smiled gold for us alone….
yet gold may tarnish
now ashen clouds, filled with rain
form in my recollection

For Rick Parise's Contest "Blue and Gold Tanka"
Its drizzling angel tears,
Upon the sidewalks, the roads, and old leafs.
As the darkened blue sky makes a thundering echo,
Like a mix of barrels being rolled down, and chairs crashing.
The smell of air merges with rain,
Creating a fresh scent that sooth’s the mind.
The rain hits skin calmly caressing it,
With a little hint of bitter cold.
Out of the dark blue sky
It’s raining,
It’s raining,
Because the angels are crying.

Blue Ocean Water
Softly touch blue horizon
Great blue Heron flies
Great Blue Heron camouflaged
Easy fishing jolt attack

If I was a blue daffodil
I would be different
If I was a blue daffodil
I would be fun
If there were blue daffodils
I wouldn’t be different
If there were blue daffodils
I wouldn’t be alone
What if there were blue daffodils?
Would we be together?
Would we be forever?
What if we were all different?
What if I was violet and you were red?
Would you still like me?
Would you still enjoy my company?
I like being different,
Being a blue daffodil…
