Blue and Gold of Long Ago

so blue the river
that meanders through my thoughts
as I remember
summers when a golden sun
wrapped itself around our love

skies once winked blue eyes
sun smiled gold for us alone….
yet gold may tarnish
now ashen clouds, filled with rain
form in my recollection

Such memories of beauty that is now out of reach add to the pain of a lost love, Carrie. You did a beautiful job with your tanka. Awesome! Love, Carolyn

wow, you did so well with this, Carrie. It's gotta be a number one! My middle name. Well just take the last three letters of my first name and rearrange them to spell it out. Not hard to guess. hehee

This was good but it would have been real nice to have seen you continue on this poem and make it as great as what you have already done. Good read
