On This Day
Pomegranates in full bloom on this splendid afternoon. Mayfly sways on blade of grass. Lazy clouds floating past. Sunlit pond, still as glass. If this day could only last.

The Arrival
An easy breeze blows softly
through the pitch pine trees.

The mayfly knows
it's time to find the lily pad.

Squirrels in search of nuts
tucked away for such a day as this.

All creation cries with joy-
summer has arrived....

Sunrise
We’re born.
We live.
We die
And sometimes wonder why.
And sometimes
With a bit of luck
We get to get or give
A ****.
Are we so different, you and I
From the miserable mature mayfly?
At least we two, may set our eyes
On this, this morning’s shared sunrise....

Mayfly
Short lived
As a moment
Merely a day
The flutter of wings
Under a blue sky,
Time only to copulate
Fertilize the eggs
And then die,
The lifespan
Of a Green Drake Mayfly.

The Mayfly
Our first kiss was a deathless Mayfly.

Ten years onward, we sit
in a Doctor's waiting room
as sniffling strangers.
She smells of baby-puke.

Sometime later,
she tries to sell me a cellphone
in Radio Shack
(still no recognition).

Sadly Radio Shack,
like long forgotten kisses,
is now a dead Mayfly....

Amazing to be glorious mayfly Skimming over wetlands and ponds People look at my wings and sigh Iridescent colours I wield like a wand. 'tis sad my life is really fleeting I do so love these sunny hours Short, my life, but very pleasing End is nigh in summer shower.

Mayflies ::Rannaicheacht Mhor Gairit
[center][b]

After birth
has shortest lifetime on Earth.
Its called as 'one-day insect'
No regret, one day thenceforth.

Mayflies swarm
And within this shortest term
of life, mayflies form the groups,
and oops! dance too, that's the norm.

The mayfly
as nymph spends lifetime safely.
only purpose is to breed;
That's the creed, follow namely.

Garnet Star
O! Garnet star, what hydra-like,
	Immortality
How humanity doth envy,
	Thou vitality

What sayest thou of Man?
	(Surely he would say)
O - but lowly Mayfly,
	That flutter for a day

What thinkest thou of Time?
	(Surely he would think)
A torrent inexhaustible,
	I forever drink

Lo, but I know a thing,
	Surpassing thou by far:
Eternal life in Christ,
	Outlives thou, garnet star!...
