Searching
Water a mirror ,I sought after.
Searching for the source in shallow marshes
Ashes on the ground , dancing under the night sun.
Searching !
The painted night sky full of stories yet to be told.
Echoes of light drums beating encouraging her to search ....

Pleating the Coms
Finch trembles in a golden spray
Grading the ant
Oh door less oak squeals
Never platitudes
suit you like a T
Cradles inflected tease and ones
King of the row boat
The S so lowly
Infectious scars legally
mellow in my marshes
Sea is loud
As the sun arose...

Dragonfly Dance
Iridescent gossamer Dragonfly
Sparkles vividly in a haze of sunlight
Reflecting lucent pools and streams
Dining on frog spider and termite

Colorful transformations glittering
Decisively emerging in lakes or marshes
Zealously protecting her territory
Equilibrium balancing harshness...

Then one day
in balmy Florida morning
on the way to school

We saw it
the sole egret in the marshes
feeding on an early worm

Yeah ... we screamed
my daughter Zahra and I
Yehoo! Yehoo! Yehoo!

Sometimes the things
that you fear the most
never actually happen

here they come again

movement in grassy marshes'

Dolichonyx Oryzivorus
    spiritus lapsae

Spring has come.
Redwings in marshes,
declaring ownership of
reeds!

Rice Birds!
Dolichonyx Oryzivorus!
Bobolinks!
Redwing cousins,
hopping in the yard;
more up than along!

Long thinking, along;
maybe I'm wrong?
Bobolink  singing,
more up than along!...

GERMANY

From Black Forest’s leafy velvet
Breathing fresh air over the land;
From the fertile earth of the sheltered Rhine,
Or where Goethe and Handel wrote their elegies;
From geest and damp marshes
Teeming rich with sea birds :
From this ground rises a misty eulogy,
A breathy chorus of myriad murders....

Different
If this love was
sifted from the ashes of ruination;
conjured from marshes filled with polluted tears of the mournful;
dripping from the hearts of those who roam the streets of despair...

If it were unconventional,
and unworthy of a crown
because of its vile and putrid sentiment:
what would you call it then?...

Premium Member The Spring Thaw
As frozen winter marshes start to thaw
with sunlight shining on the gentle hills,
the fingertips of springtime softly draw
on cattails growing midst the warming thrills.
When dewdrops form on buds by nature’s law,
the melting hearts start yearning to fulfill,
and nature’s rousing cycle starts anew;
to frigid winter days I bid adieu.

The Heart of Your Sea
You pull me
Through precipitation and perspiration
I come to You

The swamps of my Saliva,
the marshes of my muscles,

You pull me
Through erosion and evaporation
I come to You

The stream of my spinal cord,
the meanders of my membranes,

You pull me,
Through clamminess and condensation
I come to You

The pools of my plasma,
the basin of my bladder,

I come to You,
to the heart of Your sea....

Galway Bay
A horizon of rain claws boiling across the sea
Against an outline of island mountains draped in fog.
Wisps of clouds lick lazy through scattered trees.
Cattle show backs to the front in a soggy bog.

The river Corrib rips rapid under mossy arches
White caps gurgle an early morning song
Over vibrant green rocks down into the marshes
Past a gracefully floating reflecting ballet of swans...

Dear Marshfield
Dear Marshfield,

Your song is in the wind
sweeping over the woods,
marshes and fields.
The marshes this December
are green, and life stirs
under cloudy skies and sun,
but you still know your seasons.
You cut new trails in my dreams
during long nights
when the sun sets early.
Tonight a bar is empty,
and the bartender shoots pool
to pass the time.
Tonight I sleep in my motel room
for a spirited night.

Family of Four
Family of four
swimming on the
pond on this fair
day so breezy.

Going to and fro,
little ones falling
behind and then,
little legs moving
so rapidly to catch up.

Birds so many
sweet sounds they
make so well,
Redwinged Blackbird
wondering what I'm doing.

Into the marshes
went family of four
such a comfort to be here,
but must move on until
another beautiful day.

As Yet Unblemished By Pure Beauty
As Yet Unblemished By Pure Beauty

That time has come in nature’s year;
That best time of all, the barren time;
That time of nothing yet but promise;
That time of the pure hope:

Late February,
unblemished by Spring’s harsh actualization,
her first hints in this time of new light,
Skunk Cabbage stirring in frozen swamps
and Redwings in marshes,

her Promise soon to be kept in perfect beauty
unbearably aching with the certainty of loss....
