   Our stuffed animal, Marcus
rarely, if ever, barks at us

   While our octopus, sultry Sadie
has better arms than Tom Brady

   And our favorite raccoon, Cameroun
grins when stars tickle the moon

Eak - Corncrush Jam

‘Eak - corncrush jam again for tea,’ he said,
And pulled a face of utter dread.
‘You know I’d rather have a dozen things.
‘No other teatime foodstuff brings
‘Me down - and I don’t even want a gram
‘Of yucky, nasty corncrush jam.’

Premium Member Not the Nieman Marcus

Erik was incredulous.
He was twenty-eight, a neonate in the fashion world.
You are sure they said Nieman Marcus?
His wife smiled at him.
THE Nieman Marcus?
I guess so.
He was given free reign.
Youngest photographer to ever work for the Nieman Marcus.
Erik Madigan Heck, my friend.

Deconstruct

5/22/2020
Marcus Lattimore

The architecture.
Little by little.
Will start to crumble.
When you discover.
The influences.

Conformity.
At the expense.
Of sanity.
Is blasphemy.

Deconstruct.
The world's view.
Build anew.

And find.
The true,

You.

Premium Member Blue

I never really noticed your blue;
hidden under transparent shields
screaming to be noticed... or something.

Just came across as angry or sad,
wanting to forget some bad...
but not blue, never that.

Not the kind to bind a knot;
throw their lot in with chance's whim
to test if fate says sink or swim

and lose...

The Nightmare Of Marcus Dean

      Marcus Alouitious Montgomery Dean

Dined on bowls of chocolates, doughnuts, bagels and cream.

Until one night he awoke with a scream,

Being eaten, he thought in a terrible dream,

By a bagel, a doughnut, some chocolates and cream.

A New Lens

Couplet “New Lens”

My blood, sweat, and tears. Every single drop.
Yes it hurt but life doesn’t stop
The world kept moving and so did I
I was determined to continue to fly
Looking back now, it was a major blessing
Came out of it better with many life lessons
Protect your ear with positive friends
and just like a new camera, you’ll have a new lens

I did not choose, I was chosen
the gate and keeper;
killer and cure

life not mine for living
walking paths you cannot see
talking tongues you do not know

I am the light burning inside
the darkness at the shore
that shadow in the corner

eyes, windows to be shared
extramundane -
soul searcher, truth sayer, circle squared

I am ancient numinosity
no idle curiosity
- I see the end

Premium Member The Norn

neath the tree sat a norn
one of three, shears in hand
crowned in nature’s floral fare
and wisps of ancient silvered hair

she has no care of god or man
no interest in some scriptured plan
bad and good have equal weight
when measured in the hands of fate

haggard with majestic grace
timeless lines crisscross her face
she’ll give no clue, no reason why
just cut your line when time to die

Madmen Make Millions

Poem of “M”

Madmen Make Millions

Madmen make millions
Money mills manage the most
Mind a moody man on the moon
Meek morons miss many moths
Music mediates with mental myths
My mother mixes milk and melons
Maria Marcus must be Mrs Martin
Maymays may maze by a map
Mocked man must mourn more
Mute mode meant to be minimum
Minorities meet most mornings
Malls mean mega markets
Madmen make millions

With Guenevere talk makes Prince wholesome true.
"This stately James is mine to hold for life.
It's he who makes all sadness say adieu.
For he doth my heart rule and lacking strife,
this I'm sure, Guenevere, soon I'll then be his wife".

Duke Saint Charles carried falcon tame in cage.
Duke rode with James, King's brother, hunting game.
Their idol conversation played on rage

Now James disliked Morley's recent claim

Such banquet time for wife deserved acclaim
and Liege should wait accepting dale with grace.
Duke Morley needn't use the weapons sword and mace.

Stephanus Marcus 22

Stephanus Marcus Book 1
Canto 5
Verse 1
At morning's light the driving rain stills scheme
to make Duke Morley's legions know retreat.
For summons late with Richard’s seal doth team
with rain to nullify lines defeat.
This message states for Saint, whatever feat
he might thus be engaged in, cease, don't wait
do instant haste to Donville Castle Seat.
On Saint's harsh soul such tidings surely grate.
Forsooth, Lord Saint is disillusioned by his fate.

Stephanus Marcus 27

Stephanus Macus Book 1
Canto 6
Verse 1
Then Katharine spent time with James in Throme,
to ride his horses, stroll the garden rows,
to view, appreciate large stately home.
Included seen with James, King Richard foes,
but Katharine now paid no mind to those
who schemed to see that James their monarch reign.
Not caring so, for she had mind on clothes,
and diamonds bright to grace her face and gain
crowd's approbation during stay, if James should deign.

At the Seaside

The waves creep along the sea bank
The night stands still as the wind whispers silently

The palm trees sways in the distance
As their listen to the beat of the night drums

Silent night, all’s asleep
As I wonder along the Marcus shores

Childhood memories come flooding in
Cheerful laughter, Happy faces, Children playing

As the moon smiled gracefully
And the stars shone brightly

The cool breeze presses gently against my lips
As I recall my first childhood kiss.

Stephanus Marcus 16

Stephanus Marcus Book 1
Canto 4
Verse 1
In line against the foe doth Marcus wait.
His charger plays the clay with right hoof strike.
The other knights point steeds' heads forward straight
and listen keen for Saint's approaching like.
Behind the knights stand soldiers grave of pike,
then archers bold to fly shafts high with aim
to maim the hostile coming salient's hike,
perhaps to rain down sleep or make some lame.
For Morley's noted bowmen paid were great of fame.
