We toss our names into a hat
Luck of the draw, that’s where it’s at
No rhyme or reason
Must be the season
Just step on up and swing your bat...

The sweetest words
are those not said
sagacious eyes
of love instead.

To touch is able
to know in fact
a genuine soul
of love intact.

A vibrant accord
in this world I’m sure
luck of the draw
this love so pure?

Beyond the Draw
Laboring in obscurity
my dog forgets my name
The hours pass, the moments fade
with every day the same

My faith a light that dwindles
belief the final straw
In darkness splayed, my hope betrays
—no luck beyond the draw

(The New Room: June, 2022)...

Luck of the Draw
I drew the cards
a game of chance
I should have known
the deck was stacked

your poker face strong
as you called my bluff
was it sleight of hand
or luck of the draw

either way, it
was always your call
and I leave the table
with nothing at all...

Hold the Bus
Hold the bus of sweet dreams,
Is love God's golden sunbeams?
Or is it all a creative comedy,
Big ambitions for you and me?
Passengers on a bus of love,
Is divorce the answer to wedding doves?
Tough, tough, tough, tough, tough!
So-called men are than enough,
It's the luck of the draw for us,
Hold the bus!...

Such happy tears rooted in nostalgia
locked in the past you can’t see the future;
Mistakingly think you drew your last straw,
such happy tears rooted in nostalgia;
There’s never an end to luck of the draw,
every sunrise a new pearl and oyster;
Such happy tears rooted in nostalgia.
locked in the past you can’t see the future....

You Can’t Count on Luck Written: by Tom Wright January 2015 Hard work, persistence, And obtainable goals, Enhance chances for success. These wild cards Are sure to alter the hand You feel life has dealt you. Don’t squander opportunities, Anticipating the luck of the draw, Or waiting for a ship to come in, That may never sail.

Old age and its wisdom but
mostly luck of the draw one inch to the right
or left of the arrow that kills a comrade beside me
To be just past the flames that explode and incinerate
those unfortunate enough to be in front of me
is luck
pure and simple at the cost of dreams and desires
Narrow piercing painful eyes that have seen so much
and wonder still why those who make war
seldom dress for battle...

Premium Member I Dabble At Scrabble
I love to dabble at Scrabble
Making words, with tiles I move.
Spending four hours a day
Making words up so smooth

It is pretty much the luck of the draw
I get a Z, and happy I feel.
Zygote would be great, and zany too.
Easy to fit in zig, and zeal?

Know all two-letter words, have played them all.
Three-letter words, I have played all but three.
I play Word Chums, also and Words with Friends too
Which three have I not played? Totally unclear to me....
