For Raul's "Vanilla Sky" contest
double blue lilac
lush doublet floret clusters
bravely elegant
visiting in May
unmistakable fragrance
bringing me such joy
Blooms,
every facet
tranquilly of colors;
Your vivacious spirit screams
lilac.
lavendar lilacs
succulent fragile fragrance
surreal delight
crisp with sheer freshness
rising to meet april rain
my magic flower
Sweet scented flowers
budding on the lilac trees
tiny purple blossoms
cluster of floral delight
fill the crisp air in springtime.
3/9/13
lush lilac lilies
paint patina on meadow…
lured butterflies flit

Samantha knew the fragrance instantly
it was her favorite scent in month of May
a lilac daisy grinned at her
nodding its petals, in time to the music of life
delicate lilacs
erase shadows of winter
violet bouquets

Quiet are the hyacinths
Underneath the snows
Irises and violets
Even the red rose
Today are lying silent
Underneath the snows
Daffodils and lilacs
Even the red rose.
lilac faerie with your angel face
won’t you be my valentine?
I love you forever
sweet little elf man of my pretty dreams
let’s pollinate together
until the end of time
violent storm strikes
light lilac turns violet...
dew heals bruised petals

When rooted promises shift through dusts of seasonal change,
from a kyanite blue breeze to whirling wisps of lilac longing.
Memories live on, as nothing of value is ever lost.
my lilac tree did not know she was a bush
within ten years she flourished with a swoosh
she outgrew every tree except the oak giant
lilac tree is a hundred foot tall, shade very reliant.
lilac storms gather
hyacinth clouds mixed with white
rains fall into june

her fragrance wafts into my window in early May
following on the heels of the violets and daffodils
I recognize sweet gorgeous purple lilac instantly,
recognizing her lovely aromatic presence
heavenly lilac fragrance wafts in June
Mackinac Island Festival is in full aromatic display
Michigan rivals Terceira for bragging rights title
Lilac Island King unsure why they cannot share it
her silky petals
enjoyed by yellow sunshine
happy with the grass
her fragrance wafting
gently in verdant meadow
delighting faeries
lilac leads the way
sagely announcing springtime
sharing lavender
Shining is the star light
filtered by the scent
of lilac
upon the wings
of the bird that never
ceased to peck at
the cage bars
for that special day
when it will perch,
free,
upon the lilacs
under the starlight.
Through the gate of the dale
flew a garrulous gale
tearing through branch and leaf.
We watch; wait for relief.
Leaves and twigs lie scattered;
blooms from the lawn gathered
into a bowl, displayed,
admired before they fade.
Light purple in color most of them grow,
Instant beauty when they bloom in the spring,
Love is the language the lilac does bestow.
Aroma of the gods it does bring.
Creating such peace, song birds sing.

Her abode
Clothed with
Shades of purple
Rustic accents
Books & fairies
Steering
Reflecting
Her souls dance
Lilac so
Her happy hue
Singing to
Her being
Embraced
In violets
& lilac lace

I escape into the mist of a lonely forest lake
Collapsing with sorrow upon a seabed of lilac petals
Surrounded by stately trees, they whisper that life will go on.

Lilac bush came to life today
It’s nowhere near the month of May
Delicate buds a passion play
Perfect purple on this fair
Succulent fragrance from the fey
Wafting from this merry nosegay
April dance a pretty sashay
Coaxing summer along the way
Reading and enjoying a brisk winter's night,
when, like birds, my thoughts take sudden flight
over color-washed meadows, lilac hills,
golden-red forests, a guest to Earth's thrills.
If all could see Earth's beauty from above,
We would guard her wonder, treasure her love.
My window opens wider
as my focus narrows down
The words are now much richer
than what I used to think profound
The light brings joy and substance
filling corners deep and closed
Its breezes tinged with lilac
—all negatives exposed
