Pizza For the Mob

Well done pizza is what the mob counts on
The lightest always set before each con
Don't die alone
It's set in stone
It's always the darkest before the don!

Grandest Larceny

With lightest hand
and heavy heart

My pen runs dry,
bereft and stark

That never given,
I’m doomed to steal

The grandest theft
—my words conceal

(Stealing From Laura (Muse): March, 2021)

Gone

She was a burglar
With the lightest touch
She stole bits and pieces
Until all that was left
Were the bones of a dreamer
And the lips of a fool
Lips… that call out
For a beautiful thief
That will never return

Night Gnome From Gosh

The night gnome from Gosh has the lightest blue eyes.
They are lovely and deep, and full of dainty surprise.
His clothes are made from the best threads of all.
He might have been a king if he were just a bit tall.

Summer Completion

lavender ideas
gentling summer’s gentle rain

baby blue feelings
wafting into dreams of hope

soft baby pink
showing her power

lightest green moth
floating on a faerie’s wing

sunlight yellow
completing the rainbow

Candy

She was sweet
      and beautiful;
her thoughts undulated
      like ocean waves,
her movements were
      like a dance, but
she was fragile
      like ribbon candy and
broke into small shards
      at the lightest touch.

If

if love
is not
the softest rain
that falls
atop
the trees,
the softest light
in green and gold,
the softest, lightest breeze;
if it is not
the silence
of
the clouded skies above
if it is not
a forest
i don't think
i've ever
loved

I wish I was the wind

I wish I was the wind
ruffling oak leaves
wafting through a verdant meadow

traveling through the night air
gently kissing the tips of grasses
the lightest of songs

a whispering wisp
refreshing in the rain
rejuvenating the earth as I pass by

Weighed and Found Wanting

Weighed and Found Wanting By: Tom Wright 3/27/2006 The greatest attainments in the life of man Takes rest on the lightest side of the scale. Things penetrated only by our imagination Are quickly weighed and also found to pale.

Threads

As if a silken thread
 glistening in the sunlight spread
the warmth causes it to stretch
 fluctuate in the lightest breath
life strings along the paths
wondering if love and experience last
and each and every day
in all our struggles and games we play
life finds its way.

I Remember

I remember,
Somewhere in summertime,
Under dewfall,
Two hands,one shadow,
Cast over a sundial.
Sandals in shade,
Eyes reflecting
Skies of sunset.

I remember,
Whenever in wintertime,
Late afternoon,
Following clouds home,
Making our way
Through a wood,
Lightest touch,
Quiet fall of snow.

Drops of Truth

You are so small, and yet mean so much
Many things can cause you, the lightest touch
You represent love, happiness, and sorrow
You show the truth, no lies you flow
You taste of salt and honesty
You’re the path from my heart, subconsciously
You are so inferior, so mere
But you show so much, my single tear

Slowly Fall Apart

Everytime you cry I slowly fall apart
By the way, can we ever tell they're the one
You're the pages from my past
But i want us to be in between, from the darkest hours to the lightest ones
I'm collecting all of the pieces through my gifted mind
Turn them into powerful voices you'd hear when you slowly fall apart

Security

Ancestral
These assurances
These well-intended
Platitudes of wisdom borne of
The lightest light they ever knew.

I resist
I cringe
I worship
I respect

I do not judge

I cannot always appreciate

I respect
I ruminate
I live and breathe and yearn
I stretch and dance and sigh and sigh again

To make the haunt
Less daunting

Gray

Reflecting on times, ones perfectly certain,
Without shadows of doubt on the mind,
As though shining, waiting by black or white curtains,
As though truth were so easy to find,
So clear now it seems, contrary to say,
Such clarity is not in the slightest,
As black, surely, but one dark shade of grey,
And pure white, just another, the lightest.

Pathetisad

for Steph

I can still remember the day

when the paper trees we built our houses in

burned to the ground

so carefully constructed

from the lightest weight

by heavy hearts

my ruby tears

my sister in soul

on the other side of a bloody ocean

I ate my screams in silence

choking on shame

with the deepest fractured heart

Adulation Born From Despondency Part Iii

Watch as the stars embers fade into streaks of color,,,
From the lightest to the darkest shade...
The skies face splits open into a wide-eyes smile..
As it cries joyously down on you...
The crimson tone of your laughter rings loud and clearly...
You watch the water caress the Earth...
And slowly we return to our underground...
Life with you is all I ask...

Weightless

You lift my soul and carry my bones

This is the lightest body I’ve ever owned

Learning to live for one, but love for two

It’s all a new story with you.

Feelings of fear surrounded my heart,

Broke my fall, turned love on pause.

I know I’ll love you one day,

But I’m not too sure what that means.

Though these feelings I feel for you, run to the deepest parts of the sea.

I'll Try To Be Good

Deep dark chocolate, dry red wine
The combination tastes so fine
Like the richest, most delicious fare
Is my bonny with the gorgeous hair
I feast upon her beauty, drink in all her grace
Long for someday, maybe, when I could simply place
The lightest kiss upon her hand and walk with her on golden sand
Drink milk from island coconut
And watch the sunsets from our hut

Cotton Jeans

The February morn' hangs the soft light
puffs of cloud as if to decorate a milled land,

the snow-shine as bright as the sun.
Yesterday there was a trace of the wake

of a skywriter, the color of aged lace
against the lightest blue,

blending with the faded olive
pines, theirs with an orange frost.

And the Igiri tree's captive snow
are the cotton blooms of farmlands.

Dead Truths

but then again the dead will try, to get your attention by and by, the lightest touch you surely feel, ask the question, is it real, as my Dad said when he came by, "white ants up in the corner, WHY. " we wither on the human vine, but spiritually we're doing fine, to suffer of and reap your fate, till death is cleaning of the slate, time to drink some wine...

On the Sparrow's Beak

A passerine bird,
One of the smallest of sizes,
With a beak almost minute.
On its beak you can count many;
the tiniest to biggest,
the slimmest to the fattest,
the lightest to the heaviest,
the ugliest to the finest,
the sourest to the sweetest,
the slowest to the swiftest.
All on this paltry beak,
it houses them all.
And what do you liken this beak to?
A lad's might,it is.

For a While

Hide me in the brightest love
in the deepest corners of your arms.
Just a look ....
Your face tends to lift me off
somewhere other than here,
a thousand miles away.
I don't feel the world is gonna cave in,
I'm in the lightest parts of you
taking it in.
Let this not pass.
It's more than a good feeling,
I transcend and surpass the hurt.
And I'm glad that for a while
this could last.

Rain On Me

Rain down on me, your lightest mist
come pour a torrent down on me,
a deluge from those lips I've kissed
a river that can fill a sea

Flooding with your hot monsoon,
douse me now, under the moon
leave me soaked, right to the skin
drench me, drown me, drink me in

Leave me glistening, leave me weak
overflowing, like a creek
rain on me now, end the drought
burst the clouds and let it out....
