Ancestral
These assurances
These well-intended
Platitudes of wisdom borne of
The lightest light they ever knew.
I resist
I cringe
I worship
I respect
I do not judge
I cannot always appreciate
I respect
I ruminate
I live and breathe and yearn
I stretch and dance and sigh and sigh again
To make the haunt
Less daunting
