I
am in
her way – our
love lost. She’s free –
yours truly, never again. Heart
broken, dreams denied, lesson learnt…unless…
“The mean gene”
The act of treating all living creatures like sh*t
Is it a learnt behaviour
Or ….. are you born with it?
You hate me a lot
Yet I do respect and love
You like, love or not
I have not learnt how to hate
Befriending I have only learnt.
Learnt to Read
I learnt how to
read the
words here, there, and
everywhere and
too many others to
count in
vapour form.
A lesson learnt in ancient Rome:
Beware the sun with sea-salt foam
But learnt at Yale
With skin so pale
Don't leave your bikini at home!
It was crowded on Noah's Ark
So bats learnt to fly in the dark
Because of the flood
They had to drink blood
On Halloween, they feast like shark!
I went to a city,
With many alacrity,
Some with anxiety,
Some with curosity.
I learnt a lot,
With a slot,
I planted a pot
And put a dot.
As I walked on bare feet in abandoned roads of the forest
I learnt to trust the sound of my strides
Walking away from things not meant to be mine
A lifetime lived
Lessons learnt
Knowledge gained
Respect earned
Keep life simple
Acquire peace of mind
Know compassion
Be kind
Form:
A lone butterfly hover to
check more symmetry
in wasted flowers,
agonizing a young kitten who
had just learnt to leap, making
its mother think deep.
Learnings
what books could not teach
read many faces from close
lessons of life learnt ...

I learnt to ride
many years ago,
upon a mare
who was rather slow!
Dear old Fruitgum
became a great chum,
each Saturday hack,
riding shotgun at the back!
Palestinians do not know
Israelis are not there for show
Go on! Take a peek!
They won't turn their cheek!
From Romans they learnt quid pro quo!
So soon the seasons come and go, a purpose for nature to advance
A time to grow and time to die, lessons learnt our duty to enhance.

My physics is flawed

Form:
I would like to give you
all my love as a Christmas present
but I think
I couldn't wrap it well enough
as I have never learnt
how to wrap a quality parcel
A mistake is a lesson learnt well
From the experiments done ourselves,
The result of which lies in our hands
Whether to continue or make amendments.

Picked off wreckage
Clothed and learnt anew
A mile further
Vinous, soft love
Shown to sweet calm waters
Stirred by angels for my quench
Deligted, indebted heart
Patricia dawdled through the breakfast
Mom got angry, sent her to Belfast
There she learnt how to run
And how to eat a bun
And returned with the bread crumbs amassed
It’s a bright new day
I wake up changed
A different person now
I’ve put all behind
Woken up to a new day
Feel different now
Learnt to let go
And continue with life
FORGOTTEN:
callow youth
literacy learnt
a remote childhood
dark nights at play:
meadow flowers
hooters and the
school bell
bonfires
snowball fights
rusty bikes...
time, conflict

Ninety-nine bottles of beer
A discovery
Is learnt through out time
Cyclic changes one forever
Mind your P’s and Q’s!
Gullible I am
Gullible I will always be
Been burnt many a time
Lesson learnt….No Siree!
Soft hearted, believing
Is who I am
Will I ever change
Lesson learnt…No Ma’am!
EMOTIONAL LEARNT FLOWERS
if roses are read
Do they go to school
if violets are blue
why are these flowers emotional
