The last time I saw Paris
The lights had vanished from the skyline.
She sat quite calmly,
Speaking in a common tongue,
Words that soon dissolved like my intentions.
Her eyes met mine
Then turned away towards the moon.
I sat alone in midnight's room,
Lost in thought and memory;
Dreaming of what might have been,
Pleased with what will never be.
