Belated Dawn
What ought to have lapsed
A decade ago sluggishly pops;
Antagonist’s claws now thaw
And give way to buoyant hopes.

Gilded Life
Lost in a labyrinth of
Glistening sights
Infinitely out of reach,
Trembling amidst sweeping mistrals,
Fabricating a life of nostalgic allusions,
Caught in lapsed reveries, of
Restless arias and faint rustlings
Sequestering my rampant aura,
Bleeding in russet naivety,
Evaporating in silent elegies....

Buttercups
So many come blossoming,
verily so many merrily
so many! under the high-
spirited sun, opening
a host of yellow. Nine,
ten, three dozen blooms,
now hundreds casting off
the old lapsed minutes
the months of cold –
joking high-spirits
so sinuous on thinnest
green stems – this very
morning so many!...

Petrifying prediction proffered. Abhorrent abominations and shapeless shadows stalk streets. Perpetually pitch as Luna's light lapsed. Her Ring.
Pure precious yellow
An endless go round
No end to the beginning
Is there to be found
By strength of devotion
My commitment was cast
A circle the measure
My ardor shall last
Donned on your finger
To time lapsed unknown
Our future the brilliance
Within the luminous stone
Vows promised sacred
My faith you can’t lose
Ever more than a partner
You are my muse....

Spring Taunts
Brief respite lapsed,
Gray day too harsh
To venture out
As noontime last
When sidewalks teemed
With jacketless grins
And one pert, lithe runner
Of vernal youth
Flashed her bare palm
In friendly passing …

Now, through fogged pane,
I downheartedly watch
Three daffodils bob
Canary heads
Against this onrush
Of chill wet air:

Spring taunts winter’s
Doomed oppression....

Poignant voice
In word choice

Stillness grounds
What voice sounds

Silence sparks
Vivid lark

Echo waits
Stuff and gate

Sorrow sad
Waits on glad

Not much mood
In lapsed good

Here a while
Hymn fond style

Purge all hurts
Rise from dirt

In plain fling
Mixed feelings

Apt poetry
Words surge free

Bemoaner Love
Another day first
Lights by and by
My heart is broken
Mourning, sorrowing
My quiet tears
Stunning to my ears
Sole in the haze of misery
To my mystify
Lapsed slipped away
Your face I observe
Gone your voice
The house with tune
Your hence makes me blue
A cut heals over time
Emotional pain glues
Eventually too
I will have a scar
It will remind me
Of my love for you...

February 3, 2022 Miracle Man Being heavy with snow the sky collapsed, a nor’easter is causing drifts to mount. I find poetic concentration lapsed, snow has increased by a goodly amount. Ice crystals are forming on front storm door, in scribbling my name, It’s cold to my touch. Wife yelling at me while pacing the floor, I'm penned up inside and in winters clutch.

Knowing That I Am
David J Walker

I’ve tried to keep my memories
Of seasons in separate shoeboxes
As time lapsed photographs of
Of Summers and Falls
Winters and Springs
So that all might be compared and
Shared as the layered things in a
Lifetime of meanings
Pictographs etched into whatever
Is left of my DNA
Holograms to be reviewed
One day from every angle
And they will say that I am...

Alan W Watts: Rip Great Lapsed Pastor
I
Alan Watts says we live forever
In children if we can bear
There is no joy in going on, ever
And ever as a dying tree or flower

II
He was a brilliant Brit, knew nirvana!
Died as American, in California
Barely making 59 years, once pastor
Presbyterian in Pennsylvania

III
I need to research why he quit
He was undoubtedly good at it
For faithfulness few scholars matched
His authenticity, universality. Unmatched...

Fear Not the Warmth of Spring
The frost shall soon be
lost in its lapsed sight.
For Spring shall reach her
peak with shine and grace.
She is the bright light.

The time for hope
has come with dreams
of a fresh start.
Let’s praise this age.

We shall see
all the good
God can give.

Fear not
her charm-

Warmth

Undecaying But Separated Love
dear, look
you have-
avoided my rose
denied my expression
abused my feelings
but behind the curtain, I've found you,
your eyes, your lips and yours
it’s all yours are-
seeking something,
feeling my absence silently,
finding out all of me………

why these are?
why this falsehood separation love is?
why this hides and seeks feelings are live lonely?
how many days will be lapsed in this way?

Time Lapse
Places that once had names
changed by wind and rain
and sun and shifting sands
once mapped and framed
bad lands claim
dry bones.

Desert meets sky
   and rivers run dry
and road is lost
    to all who try
to find their way
    to shining pools
of silver lies
    miraged below
forgetful skies.

Days go past in time lapsed
skies changing fast to black
to red to blue to white
and back again
to no end
in sight.
