Premium Member Knitting a Poetic Rib

in measured
mood
   spontaneity
of an arrested
moment

 knitted
      together
with
     experiential
 symmetry

The Newt

A newty knit a net of knots and thought it rather fitting.
But knew he not, that naughty newt, that nets are not for knitting.

Eleven Minutes

Minutes eleven
soon it will be seven,
time is ticking,
I like knitting,
I have a horse,
do you like my porsche,
time is divine,
will you be mine?

Premium Member God Weaves a Tapestry

Some days, God weaves a tapestry,
Life's circumstances furiously knitting.
Other days, leaving things to ourselves,
She does needlepoint, while sitting.

Grandma House

Grandma's House
great smell's of baked good's
lot's of hug's and kisses
alway's a safe place
Grandma alway's relaxed
knitting and rocking away
watching us play.

Karen Knits!

There was this old lady, drinking soup
She was also knitting, loop by loop
She ran out of yarn
Screamed and said- "Oh Darn!"
Started dunking needles in ball hoop!

Premium Member Perils of Perfectionism

I skipped my knitting group two weeks ago
alas, I had zero progress to show.............

But I explained (it did fascinate her)
knowing I'm a big procrastinator ;-)

Premium Member Dropped Stitch

Never flush
not tight fitting
a little bit out
not quite sitting
right with the world,
I always was an odd bit of knitting,
two plain stitches instead of purled

Premium Member Knitting Memories in the Dark

Listen to poem:
Knit one, purl one
two knit together.
On we go, entwining begun.
Next a loop we pull to tether
Then a purl one, a reversal done.
Now a lace embrace, two as one forever.

Nanna

Nanna is a nice word.
Nickname for mom's mother.
Never too far to reach.
Nearby to help you out.
Needing advice or care.
Needles clicking knitting.
Nice tiny tot booties.
Form: Verse

Granny

Gone from my humble home.
Girls have finally grown.
Getting much older now.
Great expectations here.
Granny in waiting me.
Good knitting baby things.
Great for babysitting.

A Good Yarn: Grief Relief

When words don't help
Knit and purl the agony out
Your hands will learn how

Knitting

Knitting gives me pleasure.
Keeping me occupied.
Keen to create with some
Kaleidoscope colors.
Knowing cold winter has
Kinfolk's teeth chattering.
Knackered knitting for them.

Starting dreams with you in mind
As my thoughts begin to wind
Themselves about,
Braiding lines of poetry
From unconscience realization,
Knitting mufflers of hope
From reassurance.

Knitting always looked easy to me, as a child I wanted to try. I did try it many times, oh no it was no good. I love knitted things, only store bought. Is for me, so sad. Soft.

Dream Song

Will you read
the snow on the grass knitting
the big eyebrows

of moon at night
which will never know hidden
hands of a wetland ?

The tears implant
green circles on cheek.
Spring was coming back.

Xanadu

absent being
claiming deliverance
even fearful gratitude
has its jaws knitting lies
mimicking, never opening
prying questions, rigid statements
tallying up versions
Xanadu waits (for you)

Knitting's my hobby, I never stop
Blankets, sweaters, gloves, hats and socks
All colours of a rainbow
Chunky or double knit
Whatever it is
I will not stop
Till the day
That I
Drop

To Livia, And, To You Reader

I see our time,
and, around it
a door.

Latchless hinging
on the thimble
thumbs of
two children.

I run into you
a needle,
arive behind
you a thread,
undone in my
knitting,
stained red.

Typical Wednesday

She sits there, knitting
It’s the same deal with worker bees
A continuous addition, to completion
Shameful, that I keep tugging this loose thread
She's knitting for nothing
I think she knows too
Stubborn woman

Premium Member knitting

toasty variegated yarn from Oskaloosa
the hues of colors
red blue yellow green
knitting needles are clicking along

warm mittens and slippers
afghans and shawls
a dress for a toddler
clickety clack clickety clack

Premium Member Do You Want Mitten S Or Not

they were staying at grandma’s when mama had her litter
She was knitting a green sweater, their sweet babysitter
Who is the yarn puller? She asked both of the kittens.
If you keep doing that, you will not get any mittens!

Lost Stitches

If you can’t stand the criticism
put down your pen
Instead take up knitting
but caution the thread
Too thick and your stifled
too thin and your bare
As needles purl over
—what hides in despair
