The mist,
Dances,
like ballerina heels,
It kisses,
The fountains,
And irises,
Bows and sways on
Reynaldo Casison
Spring
showers
bring flowers
as Irises
Lilacs, Trilliums
Tulips, Snowdrops
and Pansies,
sprout in
Spring.

If I cannot dream in any other hue,
Then stretched upon my eyes sticks a blue film,
Therefore my cornea cracks and shatters
Because irises trick both the fake and true.
Quiet are the hyacinths
Underneath the snows
Irises and violets
Even the red rose
Today are lying silent
Underneath the snows
Daffodils and lilacs
Even the red rose.
INTIMACY
Interweave ecstasy
Intertwined tangibly
Infusion of your smile
Irises make me blush
I crave your mind and heart
Intimacy with you
Idyllic life for two

Form:
M - Milkweed a home for monarch butterflies
A - Aster flowers swarming with bumblebees
D - Daffodils swaying in the breeze
D - Dahlias tempting hummingbirds
I - Irises with purple bloom
White like the snow, stands
Alone supported by strong stem
So different you
Surrounded by kind
But dark dark purple showy
They lean into you
(Irises, Saint-Remy C. 1889 by Van Gogh)
Eyes burn red;
sticky lines streak
down cheeks
flushed pink.
Moisture clings
to wilting lashes,
breaths are
ragged and harsh.
Doubt casts a shadow
over hazel irises,
warping images
projected at them.
Purple irises lapping up sunlight
No regard for tomorrow
Basking in the moment.
Standing in soldier-like rows, salute sun;
Violet blue uniforms
Lint less in summer’s breeze.
The irises,
In van goghs,
Dreamy canvas,
Sway,
Like lovely ladies,
In purple gypsy dresses,
To a still lilys sonata,
As the roses and sunflowers,
Sigh in vivid chorus,
And hues
Reynaldo Casison
We would like to
eat steaks in Alaska
or fry battered mushrooms,
but the there is money
to be made
in the Southland.
The irises bloom here thickly,
and roses bleed,
while tinkering hands
use up the day.
To explore the mystery,
Behind veils of irises
Covering sinful beauty;
I am imprisoned, no less
By the pain your look suggests.

Contest--Through Your Eyes
Leon Datu Visual 3
21 words only
Sweet scented blossom
Perfume fills the air
Rejuvenating the world with colour
Irises wave in the wind like purple flags
New life everywhere
Get out and enjoy the spring sunshine!

The irises are so purple bright
glistening and gazing in the night
starry back drop out of sight
Picture perfect as the full moon
past the horizon of gloom and doom
from days that bloom in late June

Form:
The curvaceous,
lake,
The waves,
shimmer,
With evening stars,
Like Van goghs irises,
We sat side by side,
One carefree summer,
Ethereal,
Its leaves,
Swayed,
Within us,
And the moon glowed
Reynaldo Casison

Lovely tulips in bright bloom
ring in March with parrot tops
though the winds do pack their whop
with irises they withstand the strain.

MARCH IN Poetry Contest
Andrea Dietrich
swarm of dragonflies
cascading on quiet lake---
burst of hues explodes
perched on grass' easels
crepe wings swoop on irises, reeds---
ballet of light twirls

Any Haiku
by nette onclaud
I watch fields, as nature
Invites pastoral bliss…
Irises and oaks glow
Imbued with morn’s fresh soil;
Igniting rural charm
In mind’s eye . O hometown
Illumines peace … earth’s gift!

Pleiades I :Kim Merryman's Contest
Silent all winter the stone bird bath
frozen in time. Autumn debris covered
where in spring
a fountain of daffodils erupt….
Between carpets of velvet moss- hushed breath
purple faces of mini Irises
Bespeak fairies
Hearts joy on the wing.
Autumn lakes,
Leaves upon the green,
Crescent sweet in the sky,
and Your Beauty glows,
In all the stars
Mango wind,
Lilly in your hair, irises upon the shore,
Hem sweet in the wind,
And Your Beauty glows,
In all the stars
Reynaldo Casison
Impetuous stems
Reaching out early in a quest for sun
Impatient to reveal their lavender glory
Spring harbingers
Emanate golden mustaches on cheerful faces
Showing a sense of humor

How do the green clovers,
feel,
In the Autumn sun,
And Moonlight,
Embraced by the high maples,
caress of mango wind,
And a sweetly beautiful lady,
They feel the blush,
Of her Beauty,
Its irises and rose,
And enchanted kisses,
Of its hymns
Reynaldo Casison

glowing golden irises
