we often do pause to assess

seemed to
make the
mistake
of unwittingly
inadvertently
believing in
the possibility
of a brighter
tomorrow
one in which
reconciliation
is the out come
Stones inadvertently resemble pain
sharp when raw
freshly torn from rock.
Witnesses of time, they fill with voices
the ridges round off,
become children's cheeks.
Afterwards
they shrink,
stone egg cells
in an eternity of ideas.

While eating pizza way back home,

and, unfortunately, his horn she shorn.
She clasped in hand that torn tremendous thorn.
Since now there's nought his forehead to adorn,

At a young age I was deemed a speedy learner,
although sometimes I didn’t fully fathom why.
I seldom finished things on my mind’s back burner,
Sometimes my best ideas would inadvertently die.
