Moonknapping

People will miss me, they will cry
"Where have she gone? " they'll say
"Look up in the sky!" I reply
Follow the moon instead
in the lead of the missing girls,
for this could be the end of our world.

Marking My Wonder

Escaping
to the mountains
Sitting
in my chair

New trails
lie awaiting
Voices
in the air

Tracks to mark
my wonder
Memory
in the lead

Freedom
at the summit
Lost
— in my reprieve

My Poems Are Absolutely Best

My Poems Are Absolutely Best

This is what I really want to suggest,
All of my poems are absolutely best;
In the lead,
As you read;
When you do compared to all the test.

Two Visions

A walking contradiction
  like all those who bleed

‘My heart headed one way
  my mind in the lead’

‘My mind headed one way
  my heart in the lead’

A tale of two visions
 —the truth in between

An uneven start,
the same potential;
Hustle creates moves,
you are owed nothing;
Keep your strike silent;

Secret to fire?
Control the flames;
The board is yours,
stepping ahead;

Opponents
in the lead
always fall;

They can’t
hold your

smoke.

President Donald Trump will not concede
    Sure Biden lost, and he was in the lead
                Demands a recount;
                Says it's a miscount,
Not to mention the bizarre tweets he keyed

Monkey Moves

Standing in place
Working to wean
Eyes playing tricks
Seeing unseen

Shoulders hunched
Head in the lead
Moving the pieces
To serve a bleed

Toys to others
Pawns to Kings
Benefiting widely
Authority brings

Final trump
Blown and heard
TRUTH applied
Lesson learned

Rat Race

Thought  you were better
than the rest,
Took up the challenge
and passed the test.

The drive is high
the rank is low,
Prospects are good
but the road is long.

Nothing you get
you get for free,
Boost your performance
for perks you receive.

Your friends and family
Got left down the road,
You’re in the lead
But you’re walking alone.

Mario Kart

I was playing my Nintendo
controller in my hand
I guess I dozed off
to Mario Kart land

It was Donkey Kong Stadium
I was in the lead
no one could catch me
as I reached maximum speed

Approaching the finish line
I heard a thundering squreech
slamming into the back of me
was my opponent peach

Everything went dark
and when I opened my eyes
I had fallen off my bed
only a dream to my surprise.

Futile

I've been listening to some advice on the internet
that says if I don't leave it's something I'll regret.
They say he has a choice while mine are set in stone.
Will he leave me to retreat where I will be alone?

I trust I shouldn't listen and that the angels have my back.
Even if he did he'd find out real soon he's lost track.
I've came to a decision not to pay them any heed.
Futile is the mind when we're not walking in the lead.

Coronation Day

A Cinderella chariot,
Eight horses in the lead;
Two heavy looking crowns that seemed
Uncomfortable, indeed.

A scepter and an ermine robe,
An orchestra and choir,
With all that pomp and heraldry
Intended to inspire.

The royal family on board,
Except the ones estranged;
The military marchers
And the guests, just-so arranged.

Amazing to bear witness to
The history, the bling.
I joined the world to watch
The coronation of a king.

The Only Thing That Hurts Worse Is Two Knives

If I told you, you held the key
Would you unlock the door for me
Would you throw it away
and continue to make me wander for the rest of my days
If I told you, you had the answer
Would you forget with laughter
and leave me clueless forever more
While your in the lead with the highest score
I found the strength I need
When others would'nt believe
The Faith to hold on
and remain strong
To never look back to wonder why
I could never say goodbye

Sports orchestra is unique fun
On this Annual Sports Day
Of my collegeCollege
And a joy to share in races thyey run.
With a will to win are our athletes
Gathering speed from the start
As if fitted with turbo-blaster
Playing alone or in teams.
Some, though not in the lead
Have a heart and a hope
The spirit of competition
And still a desire to succeed.
While some are singing their support cadence
racers like tornadoes
Rip through the field
As fans cheer their crooning friends.
