The glorious thief is happy
He knows he is a humble thief
He’ll go to heaven.
Theft remains on the Cross, he thinks
But one can behave humbly
Without being humble
No greater reward a soul may ever receive than this:

its toll I humbly paid

The poor man turned
from the temple gate
where throngs of people gathered
to pray and wait.
Yet humbly he knelt
by a small shrine's plea
at the foot of an old Banyan tree.
When a potato cries,
do you see the teardrops in his eyes -
as he's fried, boiled, steamed,
or otherwise, demeaned?
Do, his pardon, you humbly beg
when you serve him with an egg?
I want to experience freedom like I have no masters
to experience life like time doesn't exist
to live humbly and die gracefully
to accept who I am and be proud
to never cry out loud
