Premium Member April Gone Awry

April has gone awry and is sending snow.
Old Man Winter laughs, and refuses to go.
He huffs and puffs and sends a cold blast,
But Spring in her glory will soon surpass!

Little Pig,Little Pig

little pig.beware the fragile sticks-
that form the lies of politics
for the senate huffs-
and then it puffs...
so go build your house...of bricks!*

Premium Member Happiness and Her Husband

Happiness holds a historical record for having a heavenly holiday
Her husband’s husky half adds hardy hilarity huffs to her hoorays
Handy huffing hints of horribly honorable hearty humor handling Halifax

Element of Air

lounging on the bench
tender gust envelopes me-
a scent minty as citrus

its wing releases
soft cuddle thinning away-
to blow last huffs of fall's flair

Premium Member Virgin Paradise Lost

As bright crystals descent, Earth’s frozen ground huffs indignantly, just knowing late March never offered permanence. Quickly rain, sleet teem upon virgin white – Xanadu’s youth zapped.

Peace of Day

Now sliding in peace the hues of day
Maybe this I fully know
Above the groves, the lonely plains
Of deepened soot and down to where
The busy metro huffs below--
Again I feel the minty dawn
Swell inside my breath till all
Of chilly mist is softly drawn.

Stifling the Day

I hide the emptiness
digging a hole in the head, unending pain
bury a stiff smile
between huffs of breath

It's almost a mystery
it can almost be unheard
the cloud in my eyes, almost curling
too imperfect for words

I dig this smile into a hole
snatched by my last breath
as the wound reaches beyond
an imperfect heart

King Clock

Everyone huffs and puffs in a muffled scream,

                          hurrying, worrying, distressed to the extreme;

                                                         it means it,

                                                        each minute,

in the work place the clock on the wall reigns supreme!

Premium Member Fred is always Ready for Fisticuffs

Fred is always ready for fisticuffs
Any excuse to get even for sighs and huffs
Has bruised many knuckles to prove this to you
Daily has at least one fight, and sometimes two.

Jailed in ’92 when his best friend was dead.
We were not sure it was even good ole Fred
Could not prove it was him, I guess.
Used to get beaten up regularly by his sister Tess.

Premium Member Winter Coat

Winter decided to arrive early
he asked North wind to blow
his frosty breath over the ground
his huffs and puffs came hastily
tossing an scattering
fallen leaves of autumn.

Winter pulled on his coat
he laid a blanket of white
covering the ground in snow
his frosty look began to freeze
coating all within his sight
wrapping himself in for the season.

Dreams Turn To Nightmares

The sky is picture perfectly blue
The birds chirp in perfect harmony too!
The people smile their hearts made of gold
The world is like a gem to behold
The clouds made of sweet sugar puffs
There is no big bad wolf that huffs
The children they seem so happy and elated
But not anymore their balloon has deflated
The sky has turned a toxic grey
The sugary clouds are starting to decay
My Dreams turn to Nightmares

Premium Member Abrasive Winter

The wintery mix arrived in a swirl of huffs and theatrical spurts of ice and snow.
Townspeople stayed inside for two days, fearful of dreaded black ice, a horrible killer of youth. The highway patrol closed the interstate, making driving even more tricky and hazardous. It is Kansas in February, keeping us on our toes, in warm fuzzy socks, giant puffy slippers, and comfortable snow boots.

abrasive winter
terrible wintery mix
hazardous driving

The Ashtray

i stared at the ashtray
a trapdoor design
silent huffs and puffs
the haze, unseen, unfeeling
the bricks, mocking, urging
the dead fire still crackling, popping in my ears
the ashtray wants me. My soul
it smelt the dark mascara
pressed its ears against my rattling chains
my dark cloths only inviting its gaze
"touch me, taste me, and i shall be yours."
the wind briskly inviting its smell

now i lie in a cracked corner
rocking back and forth
