Looking Back

I got my house in order, and
felt so high and mighty
sun, moon, and stars observed
I knew the rain could soothe my soul
thunder clasped; lightening flashed
my house and I shook with the howling wind
we were no where near completion.

Why prop up middleman
Sitting on high and mighty perch
Our credit card they scan

God within intimate
Here now immediate
Go in now, do not wait

Power, they abuse

Lofty sitting high and mighty,
casting shadows far and wide,
lift her head to summer sunshine,
she has nothing dark to hide.
Swaying, swinging dance eternal,
natures music weaves a tune,
challenge men to be her equal,
he'll come dancing with her soon.
Both of them, beneath the moon.
Both of them forever spinning,
underneath the summer moon.

The Nuclear Issue. 
 There they sit the high and mighty
And their lackeys it is serious
Business, who can have them and
Who cannot have them. 

How important they are these
People who dare not think or whisper
About the elephant in the room, yet
It sits there glaring for all to see.

Confirm or not to  confirm, we know
They have it. Will this conference fail?
Most likely, the enemy of a deal only
 Wants total surrender.

I have ben disappointed. I have been dismayed,
by such irrefragable frauds ensuring justice is delayed.

I have been disheartened. I have been disserved,
by such irredeemable cretins with ethics badly curved.

I have been disenchanted. I have been distressed,
by such irrepressible greed than could ever be confessed.

But in this, oh, high and mighty, you are equal to the lowly,
by this irreversible fact: both your clocks are ticking slowly.

We Are the Cheerleaders

We are prancing in place with a joy that is catching.
Our pony tails are flying; we are dancing and batching.
We are the cheerleaders, so pretty, persnickety with perk 
None of us will end up with an ickety loser or jerk. 

We are the cheerleaders, let us kick high and mighty.
Our hair is fly away beautiful, and we are all flighty.
We clap in rhythm, each thrilled to be one of the team.
We prance, dance, flip and twirl,  never running out of steam.

Dowdy and flashy

Shy and vivacious
Safe and flighty 

I love Juicy Lucy
Smelly Kelly,
Scraggy Maggie
And Silly Millie

I love Gay Mei
And Straight Kate
Spotty Dotty
And Plain Jane’s great

So is Jolly Molly
Clingy thingy
Obese Louise
And Skinny Ginny 

I love Boozey Suzie
Sweaty Betty and all 
I love them long,
I love them short, I love them tall

As the Misty Moon Rides High

The corn maze full in October,
“As the misty moon rides high.”
Nighttime makes occasion sober,
Still laughter lingers, is not shy.

Headless, the hopeful, scans the crowd.
The high and mighty on his list.
With black stallion, his shrieking loud.
Like judge’s gavel shakes his fist.

One by one the kids are captured.
A pronouncement made with thumb thrust.
They share the hijinks, enraptured.
Price worth ticket - fear was robust!
