Things Change
Heretofore I was
your candlelight, which guided
you through the eben
night. Now, I'm just a fractured
shadow screaming on your wall....

Peering through a telescope,
the Horse Head Nebula swirls in green.
Casting aside times when she lacked hope,
the universe emerges on a vast screen.
Behold welcome wonders heretofore unseen.

Left Lusciously Lingering
Left lusciously lingering
Thoughts twisting, tormenting
Her heart heretofore healed his hurt
She sometime said sweet something’s softly;
That tranquilised their tiffs
Now nothing…

Left lusciously lingering, lost, lonely….
Does doom destructively devour?
Love lingering...

Heretofore

Maybe it was always this way
The old and the new on display
Side by side
Uncensured reside
In the past
	The present
		And future
A feature
	Of similar divisions
And integral interpretations
Of every yesterday’s hold
On today
	And tomorrow...

The Chameleons
Bravery and fear
  not either or

But versions of…

Valor and shame
  brought heretofore

Mixed pieces of…

A riddle to confound
  the poet’s mum

As glory weds disdain…

Courage and fear
  not zero-sum

But oft times look the same

Tea For Two
she spoke of two in metaphor
consequence and heretofore
laced her pouring bawdy brew
with a sweetened blinding cue

mesmerized
she hypnotized
dancing emerald eyes
trapped me with her wily guise

we drank a tepid tea for two
concocted by a crafty shrew
sweaty salty we both withdrew
bidding a sweet adieu...

Grammar Always Rules
GRAMMAR ALWAYS RULES

If if and and were pots or pans
There would be fewer conjunctions

But when because or some such word
Was changed into utensil it became absurd

For although since the demise of if and and
There have been no other losses grand

Nevertheless, heretofore, notwithstanding
The loss, we must retain our conjunctioning...

Heretofore
The life, the lies, the heavenplace
In which we sole survive
Contain a bit of shame as well
As tiny beads of sweat.
There isn't much else to say
That hasn't already been heard.
Yet I hold you to each fashioning
Each posting; every word.
Do I dare hold open doors of genius
Only empires will abound.
Each time the art can hold its own
The world is homeward bound....

Digital Albums
Electronic books of your face and form
taken with a new camera.

The eyes that see it are older now.
You, all of you, digitally sewn together,
pixilated into our history.

Long bygone visions
of your once and before images
caught in thin scraps of time
and clipped from much longer threads;

Something else,

a partial portrait,
a revealing of a heretofore
of what we both left within each other
after....

Dredging Thoughts Written: by Tom Wright February 2015 On the river of life Of late I’m dredging, Thoughts from aged sand; My mind, like a bottle, That suddenly came uncapped, Pours forth long disregarded contents, From when life was good, And mostly pleasing, Things thought heretofore Forever trapped, I’m finding, Was just capture and liberate; The older I get, the more I have to remember, And the less I retain. Premium Member The Lightning Strike
The cherub wrapped in rose - chaste chariot.
A sprightly chain stirs charismatic horse
Across the ages to answer one’s prayers.

A demon with a plot to spare one’s prayers.
Betide the lightning strike, toward chariot,
but for the heretofore of God’s blest horse.

Sole-kick displays golden crescent of horse.
Claptrap scream of demon without a prayer!
Away spurs the audacious chariot.

Behold chariot and horse - answered prayers!

From My Window
A robin perched upon a branch outside my living room window His lighthearted disposition roused within me a reverie. With eyes closed firmly I conjured a heretofore different scene: A naked limb laden with snow and a cold loneliness prevailed gazing through a closed, frosted pane… My eyes opened, the thrush was gone no trace vestige of abstract snow though out of sight his song was heard Cheerio, Cheeriup, tut tut !! from outside my open window.

Tanqueray Every Day
Halitosis hocus pocus, Cures my malevolence for graveolence. The serene Listerine of oral hygiene, A matador piercing malodor, With one mouthful of Gin taken on the chin. I do risk Lucidity to rid the morbidity, I may lumber rising from slumber. Yet those taken A back by this quack, Can rest assured against the absurd. One cannot Ignore the heretofore. In addition, I offer admonition Beware! Another tends to smother Any care of even being aware.
