As the heat subsided
A cool grayness crept in
Exhausted shadows slept
Limp leaves exhaled hope
Open windows inhaled it

Geese, electrified, dances smoothly.
Yellow wings serenade elegies
amongst the endless sky.
Sorrow washes stained
blueness satisfaction near rain
Shattering grayness sighs

I do not know?
In the twilight grayness
unfading purple dreams
of two lover’s meeting
are magically transformed
to clearly ascertain
the stunning rainbow-like
emotional symbols
of sweet serenity.

The clouds overhead smother me.
Their heaviness, mirroring my thoughts,
And the grayness of their pain
Rains down cold memories,
Onto my soul like acid rain,
Eating away at my chance to
For once,
Be happy.

I do not know?
wishing for snow
Light grayness of the sky brings a needed coolness
Sprinkle of snow gives me a preview of November.
I yearn for more, loving the frostiness of December.
november gray sky
a startling frostiness

Love is supposed to be joyful, to take away the pain
On days when you can't take things, it should make you sane
Viewing a life of grayness, it would take away the rain
Even through the tears, it could turn loss into gane

Upon
You stumbled
In my Path way.
A block stopping my
Pen from forming fine words.
Creativity bound tight.
No thoughts Appearing on Paper.
I rest Atop your grayness and sing.
I then write a poem to you; Writer's Block.

we wake to grayness
flash flood warnings
and mud slides on the news
constant rain pelting on roofs
small lakes and ponds in yards
drainpipes pulsing and gushing
evacuation a rare but possibility

Years
Years, seasons, past emotional fires, and cloudy loves
Happy times, months of grayness; everything changes
We can not stabilize our existence; we are only mortals
Nothing else
Nothing more
Our End is
The killer knife
Of the Time

In youth,
my writing slaved beneath my leisure
To answer questions
only when the pen aroused
But as grayness enters now
on a near horizon
New feelings past my age emerge,
—beyond my doubt

“I love you!”:
three words,
three shining stars
that run through dark galaxies,
give life to barren planets,
spread drops of creative sap
in the sidereal gloomy grayness.
“I love you!”:
three words in a single throb
because then be the light.

I do not know?
Shine on glory moons;
Starlit in compassions;
Grayness matters harden masses;
Beneath the corner stashes;
~
Rise up oh! cadence ruse;
Partial to the sun;
Blazed in glory run;
Away from darkness shun;

To weave a word, a fabric of thought,
Each glimpse of bluish image caught.
Sweet tinge of orange scent, half gone
Delicately knitted in flowing, yellowing song.
Old letters laced now in sepia and white,
Each silent sound, grayness of dusk takes flight.

Oh splendid sky, a vibrant blue
Just what does serve to inspire you?
The clouds, they come and go as fast
So passing grayness, just cannot last
Oh splendid sky, with vastness great
A feast for eyes and hearts that wait
To accept the wonder of what is you
As they accept your vibrant blue

A child cannot live in a gray world
It is against everything they believe
They will take that grayness and change it
Add not just any colors
The colors they choose have to be the best
The brightest and most beautiful they can find
With them all grayness is erased
And their world is a more beautiful place

from below, erratic night traffic
gently taps at the wide windows
whose glass looks enigmatic,
though its graphite grayness
is really not a solid part of itself,
no dusting can darken it less,
a cathedral pane of ages olden,
but from across the noisy street,
a pizza neon tarnishes it golden!

26.
The low level haze
Carries the smell of smoke superbly.
The morning cooled daze
Leaves no room for joking.
Silence flies a dove.
The May early Sunday
Marries the peace of two lovingly.
No serendipitous replays
Sighs for attention provoking
Reverence stays above.
The grayness of this sky
Expires the normal jests remarkably
The quiet does not lie
Takes no verse evoking
Guidance He is love.

this is nothing but a limbo state of mind. the grayness seaping in through my ears and drenching the brain with the static of an old television. i haven't lost electricity yet. the lights are still luminous, but the heat is almost too much to take. a furnace filled with butterflies. i'm stuck in the smoke dancing at the tip of a cigarette. the empty space between. existing purely within the cracks of pavement.

Prose
Under flaming intimate heartbeat
Rhythm of the descent moon's sight
Velvet twilight grayness vision of night.
Still-life far away from the nearest street
Under the limbs of a tall hollow reject abstract
Flickering shadows dance lack
Weary Wounded Sigh,
Hard soil suppressed deeper.
Tiredness of digging undulation,
Hunted near extinction for an acceptation
Of the dying soul beacon scripture.

Seconds turn into days
Days turn into months
So on and on the clock turns
Step by step
Forever searching
Peace be still
My hearts yearns for truth
Step by Step
Where can I find you
Walk in the grayness
Mountain and valleys
Step by step
Closer and closer to the touch
Facing all fears
Beacon of light
Step by step
Never looking back
Forward becomes growth
Joy in the becoming
Step by step

I watched a while on a summer's day,
Above the field in which I lay:
The clouds take form and assume their place,
And in one I saw a face.
A face obscure and yet familiar.
What name that face? Twas sweet Delia!
For one brief moment I saw her peer;
I felt a subtle grayness near.
That shade of gray between dream and sleep,
When thoughts we think, but do not keep.
I watched a while and in conscious thought,
The elusive dream at last I caught.

The desperate trees, lighting bolts
Against the grayness
Of the approaching storm
Spilling onto the horizon,
Like wild mustangs
Racing across the waving prairies
Their galloping hoofs becoming
Rolling peals of thunder.
Rain like a soaking sheet
Hanging from a clothesline,
Drags across farmers’ fields
And yellow raincoats dash over the soggy earth
Towards home.
Now, dripping raincoats
Are hanging behind the door
As cold hands are warmed
Before crackling flames.

Auroras of rain
Imprint water
On flat roofs
In New Orleans—
Notes written
To uncertain Gods
Dulling brains
In wavering sheens.
Dampness
Burdens air redolent
In organic greenness.
We etch hazy sky
With ancient shadows,
Avoid silences,
Refuse darkness
& quiet walks.
An aureole of grayness
Pulses from fingertips
As we wander in rain,
Hands like hollow things
As millions of raindrops
Do not mean, but are—
A cold, dark beating
Of condor wings.

Words are merely thoughts to keep flowers company;
Pictures you can hang in your hall.
But the faces of these blossoms,
Slightly jealous of your smile,
See well past the obstacles you have stored there.
There is tenderness in their contemplation of the grayness in your eyes.
And they mutter amidst the clutter,
'tis not the speed that makes the journey, but the direction that you choose’.
Whilst welcoming the warmth from your hands as you arrange them.

Romanticism
On dismal days, don't dress for gloom;
Inject some joy into the room.
Reject a shirt of somber hue
In favor of a brilliant blue
Or neon green or red or pink
To lift the spirits in a blink,
For it's a shame to cede the day
And, too, your mood, to shades of gray.
You might not think a simple top
In colors meant to dance and pop
Would have the power to reverse
The grayness hanging like a curse
But my advice is, don't deny it
'Til, at least, you say you'll try it.
