AWAITING SUNRISE

The days come
Speed bumps
On unchartered roads
The hum of life
Easing a sunrise
Into grayness
A gauntlet dropped
Out of sight

The night follows
A cold moon
Admiring itself
In an idle pond
Life’s hum
Lurking in darkness

Awaiting sunrise

Time speeds away and the day gives way to greyness as a gauntlet dropped out of sight. Pithy and beautiful.
