Salt

The answer is at hand when laughter is canned
And we are returned to the sand
Salt of the earth to salt of the sea
A single grain of salt is what life be on evolution's tree

It Wasnt Me

I’ll go on a limb
And say it was him

Oh no you don’t
I swear you won’t

With a grain of salt
Should I accept fault

But it wasn’t me
Just leave me be

You’re both to blame
Feel some shame

Take With Grain of Salt

Take With Grain of Salt

What we did was start praying to Our Lord,
And hardly anything could we ever afford;
On our vestry we need,
Someone was agreed;
So God sent great person for vestry board.

Unseen

A shadow in the night
A whisper in the wind
The calm of the ocean
An imaginary friend
A strike of lightning
A grain of salt in the sea
The making of a diamond
A ring of a tree
Just a few things remain unseen

Your Story

Time to get my life right. No more black and white! Keeping it bright only the beauty of color in my sight! Life rolls on, take it with a grain of salt. Don't bring a knife to this gun fight! Life wins so do your time, write your story live, love, breathe every line.

You

___

You cannot escape yourself,
I know we wish to be someone else.
Comparison is an easy deceiver,
no one is much cleaner,
Everyone has their faults,
Your not the only grain of salt.
No one can share a duplicate identity
that would make you a nonentity.

A Watery Grave

I Shall not kneel...Beyond the depths
Of the tears... Long since have fallen...
Nor shall I gather... Again amongst them..
'Less their untimely stage of demise...
Binds the hands of space and time..
And I ripen into a single grain of salt..
 Amidst their long standing...Watery grave...

Truth

I don’t have to hide my pain.
Or dress it up in pretty lies.
I can say my truth in a normal sentence,
No one bats an eye.
They don’t feel the weight of my honesty
They brush it off like a grain of salt.
The person before them can’t possibly be broken,
And I know that it’s my own fault.

Chaos Heart

Unrelenting Unrepenting Disingenuous incensing Broken promise Faulty premise Drunk with grandiose suggesting All chaotic Schizophrenic Catatonic Photogenic Served with Pennyroyal tea Pinched with acid hydrochloric I'm the grain of salt that's taken as my core is always shaken I refuse to see I'm free when my gifts return forsaken

Loose

Years of Silence without cause
Many using all you are
No way to relieve all the bull
Taking it with a grain of salt
Keeping real thoughts
Small talk of ones who can not
Needing to bring others down
Living for the moments of one
Who can
Does and will
Come through all their thrills
The victory short lived
Winner rises again and again
Uncaring the opinions

When Plans Are Made

When plans are made, there is a chance
That they might need to change,
For life throws curves and some events
You’ll need to rearrange.

The reasons do not matter -
Family, weather, health or work,
Since beneath the surface calmness,
Unexpected problems lurk.

When I make plans, it’s always with
At least a grain of salt,
Prepared to cancel, knowing that
Nobody is at fault.

Premium Member It Was Only a Matter of Time

It was only a matter of time
Before times day was outnumbered

Everything must come to an end
And in the end time does too

So, time already knew this
But took its time with a grain of salt

Oh, I mean sand
Like an hourglass

Your time is at hand
Time comes to a stop not just dividend

Time wears its best face
So, like time be efficient or your time will erase

hear the laughter through the words
take it all with a grain of salt
come play and laugh
it's all for fun
don't worry now
it's nothing true
just playful words
mischievous minds

Replacement

Did you say there's a new baby in your home?
Well that's your replacement if truth be known
You'll raise him up through many trying years
As he becomes a teenager and gives rise to all
your fears
Your advice to him is taken with a grain of salt
of late
Because you're old fashioned and he's up to
date
But revenge is coming when out of the blue
He's got himself married and its his turn for a
replacement too

It All Comes Together At the End

There is no reason to become frustrated when things are misplaced, for everything happens for a good reason.
If one could only see into the future and see this plan that was laid out for you, it will all work out in due season.
Take no time to get angry over an accident, a wrong turn, or simply over spilled milk.
Taking mistakes and mishaps as a grain of salt without a murmur will help alleviate problems and life will be as smooth as silk.

Premium Member A Fathers Immortality

Upon waking up this day, a single tear
Father your eternal immortality
Still proves wise and gracious
I haven’t been misled by popular opinion
Which should be taken with a grain of salt
You showed me how to expose the counterfeits
who foster misperceptions,
Which have shaped our faith
How to think with an open mind, heart, and soul
Father, your every word was a rare gift
A worth guide__
A teardrop of glad remembrance and a
Prayer for your soul

What Are Idioms

You might take this with a grain of salt
Knowing I heard it on the grape vine
Why they let the cat out of the bag
I'd say your guess is as good as mine

They say I tend to sit on the fence,
Off my rocker by not a far cry
That I'm not playing with a full deck
They should let those sleeping dogs lie!

Because there's method to my madness,
And I'm to blame if things go south
So I'm not beating around the bush
You heard it straight from the horses mouth!

Depression

Depression can make a man like me take
This life with a grain of salt
Waiting for death is all I have left
Knowing everything is all my fault
Carrying that weight every single day
Leads to nothing but a heavy soul
The man gets no rest from thinking about death
Using all the wrong ways to fill the hole
I know in the end, I’ll pay for my sins
Everything tends to come back around
During those times, I was losing my mind
Depression made a man like me drown

To Recommend

I’m wary when I recommend
A restaurant or show.
Because I like it doesn’t mean
That’s where you’d want to go.

The same applies to movies
Or museums or hotels.
Our tastes may be so different
They’re not even parallels.

And as for docs and dentists,
There could always be a chance
You might have an outcome that would
Make you look at me askance.

If you ask for my opinions,
Take them with a grain of salt
So if you hate my suggestions
Then, at least, it’s not my fault.

-adolescence-

Daily Poetry #79, April 18, 2017
Word: Adolescence

If
I am
no longer
here, I want you
to smile for me.
Go and experience
life and everything else that
you could possibly imagine.
Drink merrily, love faithfully, and
most importantly, please live happily.
Take what I’ve taught you with a grain of salt,
Make a dish that savours your life.
With that murmur of time,
that first sound, that I still
remember, continue
walking through life.
Know that I’ll
be with
you.
