Desolation

behind dulcet verse
a dazzling chant of plucked strings
moonlight gleamed unseen

a grimly immortal sigh
on someone's desolation

The Rusted Gate

Its body gleamed brilliantly in the early rays of that April morning, as I waved it goodbye.

A Regal Morning

Oh, regal morning.
Golden rays gleamed grateful skies.
Pale blue heavens warmed.
Owls retired to their nests.
And dawn greeted a new day.

When I saw her
On top of stairs
I was dazzled
By the intense light
She radiated.
In hers eyes
Shined the fire
Of passion.
It was a fire
Quenchless
Which gleamed
In hers figure.

Mr Bain

I work for a fellow called Bain

Whose cancer gives him a pain.

I cleaned his house til it gleamed,

made him feel better it seemed

So he asked me to come again and again!

Church bells rang in stark fanfare

Ghosts gleamed sprightly rescue flare

Bones crumbled the dance on immortal grave

Scavengers of death forgot to behave

Until souls gave them a scare

Wild Dream

Silence sings to me
The song of sleep, while my soul
Clichés autumns breeze
Where it roves in wild gleamed trance
As dream broke realities.

The Path

Sound
of the birch-
urged some tardy traveler
along the flowery path to drowsy nooks.

Gleamed,
the dark moat and
the castle walls droned.
Wind moan'd, disbranching a sliver of wood.

Premium Member The Day the Rain Swept Through

The rain swept through
on a winter's day
leaving sky and land
well broomed.

Bluest blues were
heaven's hues
while grass and
trees gleamed green.

Sidewalks shimmered
as fallen leaves shivered,
the day the rain swept
through.

To Christine, 1972

Hotpants showing off tanned legs
as long as a June school day

Blonde pigtails framing wide eyes,
bluer than Peruvian opals

Cherry lips freeing sly smiles
that gleamed on those dark nights

Eager heart sharing ill fated love
with this lucky, grateful lover

Ashore

Ashore I found myself, on a remote island
Star sand and seashells gleamed under the night sky
Handmade flower crowns on my head
Okinawa’s memories from last summer
Rest gently on my left shoulder while I sleep
Eagerly searching for a trace of paradise in my dreams

Birdie

no birdie with a yellow bill
hopped upon my window sill nor
could he see me blinds were drawn the
window shut on day's cold dawn and
no cocked and shining eye gleamed thru
the glass and on I dreamed while passed
the time and I not shamed by sloth
prefer my birdies cooked in broth

Love for the Stars and Stripes Took him to far places He was proud and duty bound And then his life changed On his chest the medals gleamed There, oh those red ribbons That he could not see But memories of her face

A Fallen Star

she was above the skies before her time,
praised under the pillow of clouds...
the finest actress alive,
unreached atop the pedastool of angels.
soon fame brought fever to her bed in space,
and mens eyes glowed as she gleamed down to earth.

Premium Member It Happened On a Rainy Night

Foggy mists engulfed the bright
When raindrops fell throughout the night
The lampposts glowed at midnight's dark
When sweethearts kissed at Lover's Park

Like 'El Beso', lips locked so tight
Bodies glared, though dim was the light
Heart and mind amalgamated
They gleamed, love's luster elated

The young girl's zepher stone

It gleamed gaudily a worldly eye that did not see beaten hot metal in the forge, through the window in the back of the room lit, was the young girl's zepher stone retrofitted for glitz, like gamey sorted clothes that have been run by the huntress, should Athena ever stake claim in the orchard's abundance.

A Bloodcurdling Moment

One dark eerie Halloween night,
Count Dracula gave me a fright.
His pointed teeth gleamed,
I bolted and screamed,
When he asked me out for a bite!

I Fell In Love In New York

I had to shoot my head up to see the top of his
He towered over me

He did not speak much
but he was never quiet

I often got lost in him
and all the adventure he offered

On the way to his home
I knew I only needed a one way ticket

His eyes gleamed throughout the night
for he did not sleep

Light of Life

Gem shone,
Diamond sparkled,
Pearls gleamed,
Even the water drops sparkled,
All of them needed light,
To do so,
Without the light,
None of them would have done so,
Despite intrinsic quality to do so,
It is about the same in life,
In order to shine your efforts,
Some light must be there,
To highlight.

Softer Than the Pale of Dawn

Morning was born, softer than the pale of dawn
Glints of sunlight gleamed from pastel skies,
In my eyes, life was a beautiful canvas
filled with wondrous hues from the palette
held in the glorious hand of the Master Artist.

Dying Eyes

Glazing and glazing
Eyes that saw the world unfold
Now see only blank schemes

Fading and fading
Eyes that held the ocean views
Now see only still rain

Sinking and sinking
Eyes that span both day and night
Now see only time freeze

Closing and closing
Eyes that gleamed with wild fire
Now see light no more

Bossy Jessy bought a dish of chicken curry

Comes out he from fastfood in an unknown hurry

Steady stony head and chin up he goes

Spare not from dog neatly gleamed shoe toes

Intended coincidence bursts funny fury.
