Gizzard
Death is when you
Are alive in the shadow
Death is when you can

Seeking the local coven’s cavern
a pumpkin rolled into a tavern
he met with a wise wizard
who slit him stem to gizzard
now he’s a gruesome jack ‘o lantern...

Premium Member A Weather Wizard
A weather wizard
    delivered a blizzard
      to Chicago yesterday

    If I weren’t so lily-livered
I’d have torn out his gizzard
      ~ right away...

Do lizards have gizzards?
Do wizards have craws?
Are parakeets Paracletes
Exempt from laws?

I need to know how
I kneaded dough now
To disavow middlebrow
Hear the cow bow-a-wow....

Phineas the Frog
crossed the bog
dancing upon a log

Eyed a seagull
thought 'twas illegal
So he lunched on a water beetle

Fell asleep, next to a lizard
Phineas sure was no wizard
~ All that remained was his gizzard

Baron Richard
Baron Richard was a math wizard
                                         A tetra-maniac in blizzard
He stole ‘4’ from Joan Miró
                                       Grabbed ‘4’ from Ground Zero
And Forced all "4"s into chicken gizzard...

Love Is
Love is little thing
Shaped like a lizzard
It runs around you heart
And jumps in your gizzard
When it gets a hold on you
There ain't nothing you can do
You just stand there
With your teeth in your mouth
Your heart went North
But your brain went South
You're so sure
It's the real thing
You head to the jeweler's
To buy a ring
Seems you overlooked
A thing or two
Man, she ain't in love with you
     BUMMER!!!...

Night In the Forest
Snakes hurling, as smoke is curling.
Chop, chop, no need to shop. Gizzard,
Snake and clam bake. I tried to pray,
But I cried today. I am safe, a waif.

My tent is weathered as my face.
No grace for the poor and hungry.

By the sea, I see ships afar. I cannot
Travel far, as I have one leg - a peg.
No cause for alarm, I have two arms.

I have fire, desire. I carve. I won't
Starve, at least not today. It's ok....

Kind'A Dumb
Not too bright
Kind'a dumb,
Always sucking
On his thumb

Dim mind using
Dim ideas
Pretty slow
Too dumb for tears

Sittin' in the corner
Turkey gizzard neck,
Wondering why,
Oh, what the heck!

Can't fly no more,
Well,.... never could...
Turkey breast,
On his car hood

Back to the barnyard
Feathers fly
That silly rooster
Wondered why

Stovetop stuffing
Candied yam
Poor old turkey
Wished he was ham....

Premium Member Winter Scenery
looking out from my living room
into a day of gloom

watching old man winter's blizzard
inside warm eating my chicken gizzard

people dressed in layers
kids swirling in snow are players

the flakes come dazzling down
all over our country town

from tree top to tree top
ice falls with a loud pop

while the roads remain covered in snow
i wish we didn't have to plow- just mow

a winter couplet
winter scenery...

I Had a House Lizard
I had a house lizard in the house of Carrie
He had no gizzard like my little hen Marie
                                              But he loved stones
                                             Grit stones and hones
To sharpen his intellect in her library
