these legs I have on me,
Why, look at that knobby knee,
It's a sight no sane person would crave,
I'll cover them to my grave....

A brisk wind rattles thin branches.
A small bird adjusts its stance
feathers ruffle just enough for stability.
it gives no attention to 
this balancing act.
The bird is a wind-sailor, it has sea-legs
though it has never seen 
the wind or the sea.
Nevertheless,
it thoughtlessly has adjusted the focus
of the universe once more....

then a rabbit, then a deer.
I look left, a barn is airborne,
it flies away in slow motion,
boards silently flapping.

We have a deductible of $400, you say.
A gull rolls over the hood, sea-legs

Why I agreed, I’m not really sure
Others had pressed me, gave me a brochure
Ready or not, I’m off to Jamaica
Look Mon, have fun, it’s a piece of cake-a
Don’t worry, be happy is their favorite song
Chasing the seas, I went right along
Rounding the corner of upper deck B
Using the handrail to steady the sea
I finally settled into my sea legs
Sipping on cocktails, now my stomach begs
Especially for olives and caviar eggs

lovers join hands
on windward deck –
sea legs unwind
~
caribbean beat –
we salsa this way and that
warmed with rum punch
~
moonlight pools in my
teal green eyes – relief
from work week heat
~
a cool breeze
caresses our cheeks –
serendipitous shivers
~
bottlenose dolphins -
ride the rhythm
of ocean tides
~
hear the heart singing
of moonlight breezes –
amorous palpitations
