Stand

these are not desperate times, these are times for contribution
you are devoid of current circumstance
and lacking in any forward motion
if you are looking for more than less
take any leftover position
and turn it toward your command
that is your accomplishment now
that is your stand

Super Bowl Sunday

Under the mind blowing lights
Forceful men embrace in tights
Gigantic spectator enjoyment delights

O' Super Bowl Sabbath show
Everybody in Land of Liberty know
Time for the pivotal moment glow

Everyone's yearning for their gang to win
Tis' all that folks are sayin'
Here, poetry in forward motion begin 'n spin

Premium Member Circles

The earth moves in circles,

satellite of a physical center --

the dizzy nature of paths,
every forward motion a turn,
better soon to revisit worse
were there no change in the
first jagged passing

good need to be proactive –
while evil need only patience
as tracks become trenches
when a wheel not rightly resolved….

Premium Member Unknown Waters

Swells of the ocean currents
Rolling in forward motion
Crashing upon rocks
Slow methodical
a non stop serenade
repeating repetition

A storm awakens
In it's fury and anger
Tosses and turns
Foaming at the mouth
Breaks free
Toil and trouble

In dark turbulent water
Dares all
who would venture
Beckoning souls
towards death
into unknown waters.

Ending

Why would it be
that this should feel like the end?

Softened edges and sleek presentation
But blown about like leaves in the wind
There is no forward motion in this situation
I find myself in

A vacuum, they eye of the storm
Stillness and apathy despite the din
No where to go, but there is someplace colder

Waiting just out of reach
It feels like the end.

City Dwellers

Towering concrete monoliths
Loom above seemingly mindless
Lemmings rushing, bumping, pushing
Their way in endless, moving lines
Of backward and forward motion;
Each with programmed destinations
Instilled by subtle brainwashing
By the few who reside above
In luxurious penthouse suites.
Below one of the unthinking
Queue falls dead on the cold pavement
Only to be trampled underfoot
Unattended amidst raucous
Noise of taxi horns and Sirens.

Red Vision Bedroom Window

to long for a brief moment
of something is to yearn in
many minuscule portions
of episodic bliss that is like
a mirage with a heartbeat
using the vulnerability of a
eagerly awaiting person as
a steppingstone to the the
coldest part of the heart that
had no apparent button for the
main purpose to restart a pivotal
part that would return previously
as well as current forward motion
decisions to the most welcoming
description of "Smart"....

New Silence

Silence, thick, impedes forward motion
Feelings of sadness that cling
Shoulders bent with depressing emotion
No wonder my heart can no longer sing!

Silence is more than the absence of sound
When two people choose not to speak
Manners, courtesy, cannot be found
An hour, a day, then, finally, a week

Lonely is different than being alone
When spaces are shared by a pair
No one to greet when arriving at home
No chitchat is given, nothing to share.

Premium Member Star Gazing

She gazed into the stars
looking at heavenly bodies
as they slowly meandered
across the the darken sky
picking out various star clusters
and locating bright shining planets
watching the sky slowly move
 like a giant wheel
 turning
resembling a silent clock
with imaginary hands
with each new upcoming hour
it slowly moved in motion
all in precision like clockwork
same route year after year
like time the forward motion
will continue on for millions of years.

What's Unseen

Sometimes when we speak the truth
we tell the biggest lie
Intention stealing from the facts
 meaning ill contrived

The pole is North though pointing South
when asked which way to go
when in the Northern Hemisphere
a liars truth misnome

Up is down when on your head
gravity be damned
motion forward, motion back
‘Silence Of The Lambs’

Sometimes when we speak the truth
we pander to mislead
as 2+2 is 8 in half
what’s missing—what’s unseen

In the Muck

When indecision drops on by,
No matter how I want to try
To move ahead, I find that I
Am absolutely stuck.

Though getting out is my desire,
Circumstances will conspire,
Trapping me within the mire,
To wallow in the muck.

Plans and changes don’t get made;
Forward motion is delayed,
All because I’m too afraid
And lack the needed pluck.

Better, then, to just remain
With things in place and thus refrain
From choices that will make it plain
Why critics choose to cluck.
