Walls and Fences
They're all talking walls and fences,
words meant to force us apart,
the world has lost all it's senses,
where did this craziness start?

I'm walking up here on the ridge,
already making a start,
building a shiny new bridge,
this flyover straight to your heart.

Premium Member Flyover of No Return
Listen to poem:
Flyover of no return
David J Walker

I remember
Approaching 40

Going 60 miles per hour
Reaching for the marker

That might curtail the power
And avail a slower pace

A space that might embrace
A respite in the race

On its way to 100 and
the flyover of no return...

Flyover
...And, now, six geese fly
by, low over the treetops,
leaving the lake at dusk
in Daylight Saving Time, as if
they said, too dark, too soon.
And, as long as the geese
are flying ensemble, talking
among themselves, irate
over the time change,
then, the natural world
is OK, and so am I....

Untitled
Do you feel alone,
like you were better off dead
the battlefield in your head.
A no flyover zone.

Do you feel ashamed,
the bitterness to blame
I can't be held accountable
for I am not the same.

Emotion builds upon itself
like boxcars on a train.
A station-less existence,
I try to call your name,
I try to call your name....

Angels

flyover collapsed -
your ego under rubble -
Angels came to help

P.S. : on 31/03/16 my city Kolkata experienced this disaster. An under construction fly over collapsed on the crowded crossing. Hundreds got wounded and many died. Political blame game started. The students from nearby school came out to help....

The Trickle of Wicken Fen
Listen to poem:
Blurred bushes rush by Brain bends Time out far across the fens A solitary heron flaps The pterodactyl lazy loads A flyover of long strokes Of reed brushes Eels writhe A dog trotting Leaps across the dyke A wand of estuary birds Cast up from the land Coloured sand vast across the morning sky The power when it comes Succumb The trickle of Wicken Fen.

A Funeral
Death and its mournful tidings
Obituaries and eulogies, read
Black ties and black veils, all in rows
Surround this shell and the open earth
The cold, damp wind sashays through and through
Memories, half a century old are lost and forgotten
A flight of geese overhead, perform a last flyover
Victory in death
Vestiges of family, say farewell and Godspeed
Tomorrow brings colder and damper weather...

Cliffs of Dover Horn Haiku
Cliffs of Dover Horn Haiku

This is kind of about North Korea.

Play death on demand
Thing is getting out of hand
And was poorly planned.

His name was Say Who
Accepted their point of view
Was killed that is true.

So who may be next?
Causing us to be perplexed
Sent message of text.

North has no clover
So should do a flyover
But Cliffs of Dover?
