Fluting
Time unleashed from ferrum
becomes pain
like a palm moon.
A tableau vivant was gliding
on the road.
It was a night of rage.
A frozen scene
undulates the history of fire
in the eyes of a flute.
Who was breaking
the clouds
wading in reeds ?

Sailing Sheep
Nothing is better than dining on a fluting restaurant
where you can sip your favorite flute
while waiting for your bowl of favorite fish soap
and plait of your favorite dish,
or you can wonder around
while watching the sailing sheep.

Peaceful Meadow
A blanket on the ground
White daisies strewn around
In a meadow where we lay
Beneath the azure skies
Bright monarch butterflies
Captivating in their play
And from a leafy hall
Sweet blackbird’s fluting call
At the crowning of the day
September 29th

Anwering Your Query
The forest awaits my return
As thieves of toil steal precious hours--
With birds fluting inside, I churn.
In these autumn years , a heart leaps
For pure ventures with nature’s fill
Cherishing soil till death’s light peeps.

Antipodean Autumn
Riotous, raucous —
Rainbow parrots’ feathers fly.
Acrobatic clowns
Three great crows regard
The thrown away takeaway —
Keen, sharp, purposeful.
Butcherbirds on wire
Bowing and fluting in turn
A twilight concert.
Black wings on pink dawn.
Flying foxes homeward bound
To roost — full of fruit....

Yesterday's Music
Yesterday’s Music
The music of a burbling rill
Close by a dry stone wall,
And on the air, so calm and still
A blackbird's fluting call
Green finches in the rowan tree
Join in the meadow’s song,
And big fat yellow bumble bees
Hum merrily along
The flutter of a butterfly
The flip of trout at play
The rustle of a mouse nearby
The sounds of yesterday...

Yearning for Spring
Spring is back.
For hark!
The Eastern Bluebirds have returned,
Flying in droves from tree to tree,
Singing to their hearts’ delight.
No wonder they symbolise
The joy and happiness
Of gardens with fragrance love.
Yet I also admire The Swainson Thrush,
Aspiring grandeur with its fluting song.
A sure sign that Spring is back,
A choir of music mixed with skylarks,
Achieving a harmonious symphony,
A feeling that adds to the joy of bells.

Striking Portrait
A silvery,
fluting cry of a sleepless moon
on the pillow of a twilight sleep :
an enigma I wanted to share
with a skylark.
From the disbelief rises a sulphur
cloud to thaw the ice on the tongue of a dawn.
First ray of sunlight starts flirting,
with a dew drop on a wet rose.
It was not a poem but a thought
crossing a bridge into eternity,
for a sparkle in the pain of life,
a hymn to be recited without understanding
the meaning.
