Unbreaking Flanks
they cry heavens light
for the sun has lost it's sight
untile the moon shines...

Listen to poem:
Mine's bigger than yours
I shout louder and longer
Jump-in interuptus
deterent be damned
I'm gonna have my say.
Mutual self-destruction
is on the cards.
Attrition balition,
siege swarming,
your flanks are weak.
You're not listening, are you?...

Row Your Boat
Life is but a dream, while rowing down the stream
Better to flow along in life’s mystery, some call it destiny
The present is a gift, if you catch my drift
Watch your flanks, as life & death are your banks
‘Cause your reserves are vested in your life preserve’s...

He opened a door, approaching a massive thunderstorm.
The lizard king pounding vocal strings at the whisky a go go,
lightning bolts striking everywhere.

He was born groping for doors
that's how he probably died
spurring the flanks of roan thunderheads
in a torrent called we call life....

Karma lapped me
for the eight time
[possibly nine]
slapped me on the
shady side of life...
left jagged streaks of black and blue
up and down the flanks of my false pride.

I though I was playing in a sandbox
but in fact it was the heart of God...
time has turned into ticking scars-...

Refugees
Eastwards Westwards
we know the direction
Playing tricks with the mind
We thought we knew the best
Down Convents Hill
the stone Angels sing
Desertion is not even an option
open the flanks
play your banjo
In evening we have everything to gain
in the holy calm
the marble passages
past our golden days...

"a Knights Renown"
A Knight of no renown was he
who rode a black and heavy steed;
He wore death's steel at his side
and sought the devil's where they hide!

The war-horse knew his master well,
with flanks like wings, they'd run through Hell;
They crushed their foes in bloody ground,
and sealed the fate of a Knight renown!...

Ambushed
waterside vigil
buffalo nears water hole
lions crouch low nearby

three-pronged ambuscade
buffalo calf culled from herd
swift pincer attack

quarried prey springs forth
stressed calf serpentines about
lead lion cuts angle

driven toward snare
flanks assaulted from both sides
vise tightened prey clasped...

The River
I wish I were a river
How beautiful I would be
With a flowing mane of green water cress
To wave so eloquently

To lie upon my back all day
And feel the winds pass by
To see them stirring in the trees
As it billows through the rye

Glorious is the river
As I sit beside its flanks
Oh, what a perfect picture
This regal river makes...

Advance to contact with the enemy.
Pin him with fire, then probe his flanks.
Hold one platoon in reserve to exploit success,
Or to cover a withdrawal if necessary.

Half a league, half a league, half a league nowhere…
   Sustained heavy casualties …
   Intelligence reports…

Hand Bells
One, two, three
He starts it off
A phalanx of bells starts
Rings from posts on a horse-shoe set of tables

Big heavy dongs from one of the flanks
Little light tings from the other
Medium dings from the middle
Exclusive pings when it happens

Dings like falling glass on impact
Madness orchestrated
Chaotic music with perfect control
A river of tune created...

A freezing cold evening

Where the stars shining bright

With frost blade flanks

From mouth and nose steam

In the clear silence

White untrodden snows

Nature's frozen pulse

Sleep like a little baby

One gracious moon

After the night the light is shattered into gold

At sunrise raise your heartbeat

Premium Member Star Bucking
I could see untamed in her fiery eyes
but I'm way to old for a wild ride
but once upon a time I wrangled on in
tried to treat her like a lady and nearly died
taming a bucking star is emotional suicide.
If I could do it all over again
i'd toss the saddle, rope and bit
spur her hard on the flanks
make my way down to her lips
buck her until I spilled my brains
jump off and never look back again....

Dont Think So Much
A chevron of doves
against an abyss
of deep blue
the synchrony of flight
falters oft
triggering silver waves
passing across the flanks
shimmering
against an abyss
of deep blue
is it an illusion
harmony in individuality?
why must I think
so much
like a feeble human
when instead
with my so called
intellect
imagination
I can
experience
the feeling of flying
against an abyss
of deep blue....

The Barbarians
A lovely face with a gorgeous height,
Nibbles the straw with its bemused delight,
Chafed palpitation in bewilderment,
Ticks disaster reeking of harassment;

Look away and miss those voluptuous joints,
Fine lingerie upsets the veiled data points,
Tattoo figures in barbarian flanks,
Badgered innocence and I muse for ranks.

In her feline moves watch for the gait;
Never burn fingers when you see her bait....

Writing musical notes with magical hoofs
enchanted, I ride on a mystical,
jet black dream steed.
Proud head barely constrained by a
pure white bridle and snow white reins,
my pale chiffon gown,
floats near his flanks speaking
of innocence, flounces gathered by
tiny, pink rosebuds and white gardenias.

Slow motion, dreamlike,
the night sky behind us like a
dark, demonic power as we
become starlight....

Home
My home
Has a low-rise skies_
Three glazed green stars lived in.

The sun laughs at the flanks,
The wind hits wherever wants-
Transparent as water,
Solid as a mountain,

The lavenders smell, plays within.
From the mouths of windows,
Grunts September, chants,
As a melodious tune

My home
Which I coloured by my hands,
Happily holds me, as if I slept
In the heart of a dove

Tonight I'll saddle up the scorpion
kicking to hell its armored flanks
ratchet legs charging straight ahead
poison lance hovering above my head
claws snapping at the cooling desert wind,
hunting for fiery pieces of moon tinged sin.
I'll romp with a band of glass blown vamps
in Bosh's tasselled garden of earthly delights-
Come sunrise, i'll dismount my poisonous tank
don a tie and ride a three piece suited pegasus....

Enduring, Endearing Love
Endearing love, it flanks your lives - the key?
two hearts with mercy's gift. Your hopes and dreams
o’er flowed offspring’s dry banks to guarantee
success and joy. Your children came to streams
and drank for years devoid of thanks to thee.
Still flowing freely, your water redeems
enduring love long overdue. With grace -
a cruise on us. You pick the time and place.

Snake
It surges away accelerating within its length,
a self-winding mind
pumped through muscular hoops.

A sharpshooting tongue flicks, drilling space,
muscular chains shrug along propelling flanks.

Snake slips through its own ribs;
watching that swift cage
roll over the tractor-prints of its flesh
my pulse also pushes ahead
running to define a matching rhythm,

a pattern etched on the undersurface
of that unseen belly....

Growing tired
of running circles around your eyes.
Time to slow the tempo of the jester's soul tangle.
Breathe-breathe....breathe
my deep blue raggedy sheep.
Easy-easy-easy
you don't need those happy pills
just these bucking, diamond flanks.
Chill-chill chill.
rest your Velcro heart in my sticky mind.
Watch stars climb from frozen naps...
time to dream...dream ...dream.
Turn
each
other
on.
My deep blue raggedy sheep......

The Horse Nebula
rises from flames, forged
from Milky Way core.
Saturn flanks his right,
Jupiter his left --
Gods girded for war.

Lightning bolts whistle
above the red glare
for all to beware.
Dark stallion ascends,
riderless, regal,
through the rarified air.

Photo taken by the author at the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, July 29, 2019, showing Saturn, Jupiter, the Milky Way core, and Southern Delta Aquarid meteors....
