The River

I wish I were a river
How beautiful I would be
With a flowing mane of green water cress
To wave so eloquently

To lie upon my back all day
And feel the winds pass by
To see them stirring in the trees
As it billows through the rye

Glorious is the river 
As I sit beside its flanks
Oh, what a perfect picture
This regal river makes
