Morning tea steaming
as I sit on the back porch
Awaiting the geese
Yet, with pink surprise, toothpick
legs of flamingos walk proud
summer breeze
folded paper
kites soar
-----
flowers
bloom brightly
mother's smile
----
flamingos
gathered in millions
crowded airways
flamingos flaunting
fuschia feathers fluttering ~
funky flamboyance

There was an old Buzzard name Bill
He was perched in tree on a hill
When he saw his friend Ringo
A tall pink Flamingo
Become the next messy road kill
NA
The pink flamingos
Gather around each other
But there’s one outside
That doesn’t fit, the blue one
Are you the blue flamingo?
Russell Sivey
like a precious stone some memories
the sound of a perfect stream
the pink flamingos crossing into shadow
lit by the eastern sun
the moment i saw the beauty of your soul
Did you know that
Flamingos love to tango?
Three steps forward, one side step,
Shake of the hips, they end the prep.
Quick, quick, slow, gracefully slide,
Flamingos dance as colorful as mango.
Flamingos have extra long skinny legs
Why is that so, the natural question begs
Their bodies are large
To understand is hard
How they support themselves on these long skinny pegs
Flamingos sure have long skinny necks
Fish don't have any... didn't know that I bet
Flamingos walk on stilts
A wonder they don't tilt
Awkward but with those, around quickly I'd get
Flamingos sure have long skinny necks
Fish don't have any... didn't know that I bet
Flamingos walk on stilts
A wonder they don't tilt
Awkward but with those... around quickly I'd get
segment of the sun
lemandarin, semi-black
‘midst toasty branches
floats flamingos, flaming pink
in lagoon’s brackish parquet
*hybrid between mandarin orange and lemon
flamingo sunset
just the hour their world's afire
whispers of moonlight
orange and pink sky
hues reflected in water
nighttime is dreaming
elegance and grace
commanding all the twilight
remnants of beauty
On purple clouds, flamingos preening
in blue sky-lands, one summer’s evening,
turned to hear the turtle-island
croon to the surfers in the sea,
or that is how it seemed to me,
one summer’s evening, dreaming ...
Flamingos have extra long skinny legs
Why is that so, the natural question begs
Their bodies are large
To understand is hard
How they can support themselves on these skinny pegs

festive lark
she has a deer for pet
that day chases flamingos
fawning at Santa Domingo
Deers and squirrels shutters yet
All quiet at weeks end

Do all Flamingos turn to plastic
at their death
or are they pantomiming
every breath
as buzzards returning
to old Hinckley
seek the memory
of something stinky

Baskets of peaches
Ripe, juicy, luscious and warm
Tangerine sun goes
Summer left these gifts behind
Like blooms of my memory
Flamingos soon dance
Along the edges of dusk
Beautiful endings
Preserves and pies are waiting
A scarecrow waves in the field

A flock of Flamingos so pink
Had feathers that made people blink.
They group-danced with heads high
In a Flamenco style.
Ate shrimp, algae, and water to drink.
Author's Note: The type of food affects the color of the feathers.
feasting in the trees
redbird with traces of gold
in crimson sunset
the song is waiting
for a moonlight appearance
white rose drifting clouds
scarlet cherry hues
as mellow day is dying
flamingos dancing
jade frog is croaking
into a burgundy night
forest green tree bliss
Bordeaux birds are forever bright
They avoid Lammergeiers night
Flamingos and storks
Know the use of forks
In the Puy de Sancy height
Feverish flowery flippant freakish fantailed floozy who needed grounding
Flimflammed, flashed, flipped and flinched a fabulous frugal foundling
Fortuitous flexible frazzled French flamingos flash-mobbed a fernlike finch
On Friinge of this freakish failed flopped frenzy, I received a friendly pinch.
Wander
Falter
Ponder
Endless steps down endless corridors
Dragging heavy slimy soul behind
Through dust & rock & mud
Swampy mossy tangled soul
Full of reptile teeth & corpses of flamingos
Glossy rosy feathers float to the surface
& all they can see
& all they can say is
OOOH
what a lovely shade of pink
A murder of crows straggled
across the grey February sky
with light snow slowly falling
blanketing the world in untracked
silence, until we crossed coyote
tracks setting off Xena’s baying.
Back home, after breakfast and
coffee, I fired up the laptop to
pink flamingos before blue water,
Windows 10’s screen of the day.
do not be intimidated by fancy birds
they put their earrings on one at a time
like the drag queen peacocks
and the flabbergasted flamingos
do not be intimidated by fancy birds
you can carry off glitz and glamor as well as they
even if you cannot fly up to the top of an oak tree
you can walk along the porch railing and crow
