One Summer's Evening

On purple clouds, flamingos preening
in blue sky-lands, one summer’s evening,
turned to hear the turtle-island
croon to the surfers in the sea, 
or that is how it seemed to me, 
one summer’s evening, dreaming ...

So glad you found a happy memory to match. This beach is Coffs Harbour NSW. There is an island further out from the surfers, and occasionally a whale spouting (like a small fountain in the distance). I'm the beach sitter, my husband was a surfer then.
