Who ate the last dodo bird
thinking it would do just fine
for family Thanksgiving dinner?

It told me it prefers they
and that they are sick and tired,
they wanted me to tell you
"It's your extinction buddy".

A certain feature
on a creature
dooms it to extinction

Humanity is vastly, rapidly approaching our own extinction.
At the rate we are going, I doubt we will reach halfway to the next millennium.
For sure she didn’t need to take a ride
but flew with strong wings in flocks
that would darken the sun
into a hail of lead.
Now she’s past.
dinosaurs once roamed
extinction left only one

They're going extinct
Man?
They're almost there
An...
It's hard to take
Man
For all the wait
Man
That has our fates
Man
In more than late
Damn
Through war, species extinction, and the obliteration of the environment Man's presence is marked.

water douse earth life
melting ice push penguins end
shake from head to tail

Global warming;
Melting ice could push penguins to extinction
environment pollution
driving animals to extinction
world wars
nuclear weapons
mass massacres
hatred
inequality
injustice
but the real threat
is Coronavirus!
ceased existence
within this
realities realm
extinction
died out
became obsolete
was unable
to continue
progressing
had to come
to an end
was unavoidable
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Paper Boy
Sunday mornings
rain or shine the news was there
edge of extinction
GINSU-KNIFE EASTPORT , MAINE USA
The lost mirror of humanity’s soul, covered by helix threads
Or a creature who would destroy the wall of man and beast
Who would rip apart man’s olive crown for the kingdom of nature
In the meadow I stumble
upon the Earth's last flower;
My eyes overflow with tears
this beauty long forgotten;
An extinction of color,
to be just a memory;
We are blind, left black and white.
The manor destroys the wandering fox
Extinction bound when silence of the vox,
To hear the hounds bay the din of the thrill
The merriment of those fond of the kill.
life’s tactile musings
swirled in silk calligraphy
artfully adorned
a keyboard’s chattered drone hails
extinction – the soul dipped pen
They want a pigeon for a dodo
its the best they can do yet
gene editing rehearsed
a theoretical DNA sideshow
resurricate natures dearth
undo extinction
Whatever next
Genghis Khan's offspring
These will be the good old days 20 years from now
Mankind marches on and we all survive somehow
Avoid extinction
By manipulation
Don't know how long we can continue to milk the cows
Stephen Hawking says we must colonize another planet
Or face extinction, sure hope we can manage it
That's quite a goal
For us human souls
The movers will make a large fortune, I submit
Noah strove for enviro-protection.
Plants and beasts he saved section by section.
And now thanks to our brain
all that soon will remain
is a zoo and an herbal collection.
Once fishes, swift and swimmy,
populated seas, so many,
while birds, ever fast and flighty,
ruled the sky in numbers mighty.
Ask man if a sixth extinction's funny,
he with machines, guns, and money.
with surprise and joy
fossil dodoitsu survive
in poetrysoup
This senryu is to give my respect and gratitude to those who make dodoitsu which
is at an edge of extinction where it's originally from.
The rabbit died
in the shadow of its body,
coming to rest as an imprint,
a texturing of space.
A busy rot
has etched its life into the earth.
Extinction endures,
to be read as a heartbeat
taking its leave.
World scene..'
Dinosaur snuffs noisey,
crash! eternal silence.
Sit proudly
Expectant parents
To the miracle
Of nature.
A brave heart
against
Persecution
Born to soar
over adversity
In the dark days before extinction a bird soars
A free spirit
