Heinous

The manor destroys the wandering fox
Extinction bound when silence of the vox,
To hear the hounds bay the din of the thrill
The merriment of those fond of the kill.

Cayotes, run free down our streets, I can hear the screams of their prey. A win! Good luck. Happy Cinco de Mayo!

And why do humans love the hunt…our animal instinct to catch what is beautiful, to destroy, to cover ourselves in wonderfur. Poor foxes.

Reads like a good contender to me. Way to go. I wonder did the hounds kill the prey? I enjoyed reading your work. Your visits livened up my pages. Sara

Yes it's heartbreaking that there are people who kill just for sport. So many species have been senselessly wiped out. Well written Harry. Good luck in the competition. Cheers my friend :-)

Hunting just for the thrill of the kill is horrible. I believe hunting to supply food for your table is one thing but just to kill something is a sin in the eyes of God Almighty. Good stuff here my friend. God Bless, JB

Your words give me a shiver and pull at the deepest part of my soul, Harry. An outburst of rage against the slaughter of wild animals, delivered with conviction. Greatly done

Kudos, Harry H. Once again, your poems covers an expanse of Time & periods. Manners & manors change ... Except the killing "instinct." Shalom shalom Sir

I wonder, have they came up with a game you can play on your phone like the Fox hunt?

Those that kill an animal for enjoyment, have no conscience. No heart. It is very wrong indeed. Your thoughts bring a chill and tug at my heart so deeply. Many wonderful blessings to you, my dear friend. Hugs, Brandy

A powerful expression of indignation over the act of killing of wild animals. Many of them are on the verge of extinction. Well done harry !

Heinous indeed! Powerfully expressed, Harry. Killing can never be a thrill or merriment--but it is for some.

Sport of the hooray Henry's, wot wot wot. Killing animals for sport is a no no in my book. Don't start me on trophy hunters, killing a lion from mile away, grrrrr. Good luck in the contest Harry. Tom

Heinous it is, was and will be and the affluent do it merely for the thrill of the chase and the game, and as you say to hear the hounds bay is music to their ears! Well said and penned my friend., Hugs, blessings, Jennifer

A really epigram deserving of high placement. I like the way the title says it all. Good write, harry.

Perfect title. To kill a fox for pleasure is dastardly.
