Premium Member I Was Ahead of Her Game

My teenage granddaughter tried to manipulate me
Wiley and cagey as I knew she could expertly be.
I was ahead of her little game by a country mile.
I raised her motther who has an identical smile.

Coffee

Wafting aroma awakening my soul
Arousing sensations, a pleasure to smell
A nasal delight I can't wait to taste
Finest beans roasted and brewed expertly
A mug awaits my lips to sip and enjoy
A vessel of bliss to kickstart my day

Angel Hair Pasta

Virgin Oil encased
Oregano, Basil & Thyme
Fragrance ascend
Blond strands flyway
Garlic Shards dancing
Swim in the wind
Pulsing Beef Stake
Red River Flowing
Seeds flooding
Tightly-wadded
Expertly wound
Wasp-hive
Atop her head
Angel hair pasta

Premium Member Do You Want Hamburger In Your Eye

Do you want hamburger in your eye?
Or would you rather dig and die?
I stared at the three-year-old.
He was brassy, eager, bright and bold.

My only choices? I expertly guessed.
He nodded his head, not at all dressed.
Nothing like a naked three who has come to play.
To remind you that it’ll be a great day.

His Hands

Masculine broad fingers delicately pluck the strings
fingernails manicured to perfection.
His knuckles tight and tense
his right-hand moves with such expression.

The sound is soothing and calming
his left hand soft and warm expertly plays.
His face in concentration
he looks at me with a smile quickening the pace.

Premium Member Zuni and Zulu Remain Single

Zuni and Zulu cute twin gorillas
They loved the most insane hairy fellas
They courted them expertly
Fed them sweet chamomile tea
For they were such conniving bellas

Jake and Jim went to their hut for tea
Both fell for Zuni unfortunately
Zulu was so mad
She called them both “Cad”
So neither were offered matrimony

Trust

Trust is like blood pressure. It's silent, vital to good health, and if abused it can be deadly. It takes a betrayal before you realize the real currency in the world is not money, it's trust. We are trusted because of our way of being, not because of our polished exteriors or our expertly crafted communications, but of character.

Premium Member Echidna Gives Me Lots of Advice

Echidna was giving me lots of advice
Giving it hard, expertly, and at least thrice
Encouraging me to go to a dentist now
Warning me as only bossy echidnas know how.
Her argument held no weight after I remember
Something she told me way back in September
Echidna does not have to get dental relief
For Echidna has absolutely no teeth

Premium Member Doctor

Dearest to and embraces the weaknesses of others
On his account, he is a negotiator between life and death
Commitment to this fight has been sealed by the oath
Through pills and syringes he’s on Life’s side
Or by cutting, expertly done to the awe of a butcher, then
Reliefs everyone involved when every of his efforts count

Making Love To a Marlboro

Almost naked except
A dangling Marlboro cigarette

Expertly stroking his lover
Fingers caress a slender body

Methodically engulfing aroma
The sweet smell of sex

Swollen lips surround
Waves of rapture quiver

Eyelashes and eyeballs flutter
Sinking into oblivion

Head bobbing like a pendulum
Savoring lingering lust

Inhaling smoke languidly
Sucking every undying toxin

No Avail

like a hamster on a wheel
I spin and turn and get nowhere
the end the beginning the beginning the end
around and around and around I spin

I move forward...you step back
too many times I've done this dance
glad I'm not afraid of heights
from ups and downs and sleight of hand
movements I don't understand

all the balls kept in the air
expertly, you keep them there
my proverbial hamster wheel
spins and turns to no avail

Premium Member Not My Elephant

That’s not my elephant!
Hanging precariously
From the old Willow tree,
It’s Ella Wainwright’s spaghetti
Each stem expertly woven
And shaped into an animal of choice,
Something we all did as 2nd graders,
A part of one’s education, or a
Government ploy to re-activate the
‘Bill Of Rights'
Giving justification to all dropouts
That anyone of them in the Senate
Can represent us.
‘Even Elephants!’

Pieces of a Nation

Speaking of peace so loosely
It should be a curse when departed from our tongues
Our hearts are in contempt
For the vengeful warriors we've become
We praise ourselves and persecute our fathers
Laying claim to possessions not earned
Boasting loudly of our victorious race
In constant fear of our demise
We search relentlessly for an alternate answer
For the true solution which we expertly avoid
Would make us as one in true peace

My Views Give Some News

People will tell their views

Confusion, they produce

To guide, they may refuse

To worry, instead induce

Advising, they ever choose

The don't helpfully muse

Tension, they finely infuse

They will expertly accuse

Our peace, they reduce

By denying our dues

So, have no blues

I have given some clues

Though God rescues

Our wisdom if is loose

We surely then lose

If truth we don't abuse

Our peace accrues.

How Are the Mighty

Limpid she lay, languid on the boardwalk ledge,
Arms akimbo, not a ray missed by the water's edge,
Not a hair out of place, nuanced and bronzed,
Glowing and golden, the Fonz would be out-Fonzed.
Ultra cool and 'look at me', each movement choreographed,
Idiosyncratic her beachwear apparel, make up expertly graphed.
Distant and aloof her womanly wiles, pouting lips slightly parted,
.....as she bent over to pick up her bag, the heavenly vision farted!

Premium Member Hairpins

mother’s hairpins wait
patiently
in worn, loose clumps
for her to pick through and use
over and over, night after night

it seems to be the same
she, by the bathroom counter
day after day
twirling her fine, grey hair
around thin, frail fingers

and so expertly done, too
without a thought
her dim eyes stare
into a dim mirror that reflects
her lined, aging face
once young and beautiful

she creates curls
as she stands
alone
