Fight the Virus

A mortal enemy
Among us
It is using our intimacy
Against us
Sense are eluded instantly
As a hug is infectious
Send your affection distantly
Love is more contagious

The Puzzle

Poems I have written
words that eluded
time and time again
nothing that seemed to fit
pieces of a puzzle
lost inside my mind
the missing piece ....
 one I could never find.

Tact

Just saying my canary was alive before you got here Could it be your perfume? No offence to you, my dear Common sense has eluded me Need more tact I agree Should have said, you're prettier that you appear!

Am I Pretty

Frolicking, under celestial kisses
younger ones unafraid
silent is life's eloquent, nuanced tableau
our nocturnal Eros

Am I pretty
or just a warm embrace?

Cleverly, he eluded all the eternal rules
Ojawe the spirit, sees all

Last of the Brood

Here lies the last of the brood Though always sloshed, never rude Fame and fortune eluded him So, he filled himself up to the brim Always there when we would call He died from drinking alcohol.

At the Apex

And then it dawned on the attendant crowds
That having climbed to the top of the spire
For he had seen the way to climb up
The challenge was to climb down
But the way to climb down
Had sadly eluded him
And the multitudes
Had not a clue
To offer.

Magical Glasses

Magical Glasses looking within these lenses
That glares through these hidden shadows.

Scenarios of traps, mistaking fantasy, illusion
Selfishness eluded by compulsion yet gracefulness
and mercifulnedd intervene these cloudiness of
these Magical Glasses.

Adolf's Son

Light
eluded in order to maintain the skin white

by darkness
has crafted
the character

flexed arms of
legacy bestowed Cross
have wipe out
everything
that didn't want to become a reason for hate

but, God adores equilibrium
that's why he created queers.

Jagged Framework

Within a fecundity of fatuity
Squandered were all endeavors
Fazed I eluded
Unequivocal passion was sought
Yet still squandered were all endeavors
Candid without knowledge
Lacerated and forsaken
Forlorn I languished
Betwixt the vacuous cracks
Of black and white pavements

When Then

WHEN THEN
When I was young I knew what I would be; A super star of sports field or the screen. Then I grew old and fame eluded me. But still I dream about what might have been 13th January 2020 When and Then contest Sponsor - Jenesh Somadas

The Lucky Guy

He looked out,
With an open mouth.
A fair maiden,
Kept his eyes looking.

He wished to talk,
But words eluded him.
Afraid to be mocked,
He paused the film.

Guess what happened,
The girl turned her eyes.
'Gbim gbim' ; his heart.
But,she wasn't looking.

Sleep

sleep eluded for such a long time
I guess I was tired of what life handed down
never content, never assured
of what my future held

now I surrender and dream sweet dreams
the sleep of angels, I have found
nestled in the warmth of your body
in the protection of your love

Green In the Sky

watercolored charm
formed by the art of magic
a painted rainbow

drenching eluded
yet a hued dream seemed so near
radiant pastels

wide bands of color
in never before seen shades
most notably green

a chance encounter
a lucky rare day of life
with the sweet close up

Better Men

I think better men are still to be born
Unless they’d already existed before the recorded time;
If they lived, they must have eluded the lure self honor and dime,
And strove to nurture ideals honest and pure;
Even in judgment, calm in tone,
And their faith steadfast and sure!

Grieving

Strange how a grief
can sometimes arrive,
with stealth,
elusive at the time
of bereavement, but catching up
only later, sometimes years.

Do you ever muse
on what is not there,
wonder why
it's eluded you till now?
Was he less of value then?
Has he gained importance since?

Aren'T We

In a dither for a dollar
Monies are being squandered
The pox is upon us
Taxes are ponderous
Stuffed shirts are foolish
Peace yet eluded us
The world gets Denuded.
We're living in the space age
Can't eliminate war and hate.
These hard truths we face
We are a better human race.
Are'nt We.?

Shadows

They lurk about
Think no one sees
They stalk believing
No one knows
They’re there
Hushed implicit
In the night
Slithering about
Disguised
Concealed
Dodged
Eluded
Getting off
On being ignored
The dark shadows
Lurking in the night

One Sticky Question

There was a miracle,
Came the supernatural,
And awed us with unachievable,
Such things/events glue us bad,
Our technology attempts to copy as much,
Get which thus far eluded,
When it finally does things,
Miracles’ proportions,
Will we be gods?
Or still be humans?
Don’t have a clue,
But I am still glued.

It Was Too Late

I had rejected each warning.

I hope there is something left in me worth mourning.

I was on a mission to sacrifice-

Some part of me unspecified.

Memories that I cannot define.

Days where there was still time.

Weeks that eluded me- weeks that trickled away.

A narrowing hope- a painful stay.

Life On Earth

R-ising sun March second
I-s shining in the sky;
Z-enith has met him, as the rain passes by.

V-ile weather Wednesday
E-vades the Thursday morn;
N-ight chill has eluded
T-he day you were born.
U-nderneath the blue lane,
R-ed beacon brings much mirth;
A-llow him to bathe your heart, your soul and life on earth.

All That Is

I have finally reached that place
that eluded me in the past
I have climbed the mountains
fought my demons
released what wasn't
for all that now is

as you take my hand
walking with me side by side
beauty and grace shine down from above
serenity and love abound
in this place we walk...
this beautiful side of someday
