Grief

Grief
a state with no expiration
it will come, stay until it goes
how long, we don't know
Grief has no sell by date

--Jesus--

For B.I.

It is that feeling
when sleep is to miss
awakening or awake
you believe the heart
Stops
pounding it with angels

Once a Life

once a life
I lived
filled with amusement
but a fool I was
till fate opened the door
to show me the carcasses
of my joy

Ma

Angelic she was
resilient— she never quit
strong like a diamond
radiance glittered like gold
love so gentle yet so strong

Bye

Last night
it rained

My pillow
was soaked

The pain
was gone but

The dread
remained

Your soul
gone,

too soon.

Always

And to my teacher,
I'll never forget,
the gifts you gave,
before you left

I wish you could have stayed.
I miss you always.

Laughter of Our Time

Laughter of our time
Lips from the frog
Of hearts of sad men
That the world of men
That holds no power
Suffer joyful sadness

It Feels So Right

I slit my wrists
And close my eyes
And think about
His stupid lies

Slip away
Into the light
Nothings ever
Felt this right

Beyond

Where darkness,
Goes to rest,
Cold, unwelcome,
Territory,
Silence towards the end,
Fleeting figures,
Whisper,
From,
Beyond.

Premium Member Absence

Absence of your footsteps and smile
Exit to an ethereal word
Leaving behind your legacy
Life appears and disappears like the fog

The Elegy

The Elegy
From Chicago to Washington
Guns play their fatal crescendo
Not much glissando
Too many musicians
Or too many instruments?
Form: Acrostic

It Is Time

it is time for dying
every victim in panic
it is time to live but
many eyes are closed
only open when hatred
has eaten its food.

Grief

Grief

Grief
Tears
Heartache
Fears
The hopelessness
The yearning

Silent
Cry
Asking
Why
Another candle’s
Burning

How Fast

How fast our hair grows gray!
Before we pray
Our evening prayer, the night falls.
Death calls
Our name
Before coming success and fame.

To A Sky

         star in the sky
        there before me
 I thought would always be
            now gone
             to a sky

The sun will rise, the sun will set,
no more love will life beget;
The day will break, the moon to rise,
no more love,as this life dies.

Elegy

Judging by who was in the room at the time when Jesus said “one of you will betray me.” One seems to me to be a very conservative estimate.

The Long Ago

In the long, the long ago.
A creature crawled from 'neath the mire,
And centuries and centuries hence,
You see him in York Minster's spire.

No Words

Looking at my Father and Mother
Together
was like looking
at God!
No words
can describe!
What then is God?
LOVE !

With
a kiss
on her lips-
a face cold and
bare,
still,
beauty in her stare-
but she was not

Rosy Cheeks

All the little children like to smile
even when falling to the ground
Placed in silken bedding; gently spread
two roses placed upon each head.

Dead In a Jiffy

Under cover lay they
And in the blink of a jiffy
Fled death from lethal nozzles
And within that jiffy
Like stones
Lay all that lived lifeless.

An Existential Prayer

My fair share of toil
Has wiped its own sweat
And life has paid her debt to birth
What remains is honour now
And baptism with the waters of death

Cruxifiction

Hanging upon that cross one last time
A lament to thine sweet Divine.
Who conquered death but thyself did die-
Well, I now know He’s here with I.
