Abolish the Electoral College?
Are you crazy?
If we did that
Everybody’s vote would count!
Silly me for suggesting it.

Electoral College is proof
Many have grown long in the tooth.
Some votes do not count.
Hurt feelings soon mount.
Democracy is our big spoof.

Humpty Trumpty sat in the White House,
Humpty Trumpty had a great electoral loss;
All his lawyers and crooked friends,
Couldn't make Humpty Trumpty president again.

The Electoral College is fraud.
At it's best they take us hostage
Then pay our ransom in jest
This two-party-system
Disingenuous
Slithery snakes
Investing
In fear
Stock.

With a veiled threat
Donald Trump now challenges the electorate
A t-shirt with his smiling face reads, 'Miss Me Yet?'
Mr. Trump, you're a big risk-taker ~ 'Wanna bet?!'

Do Away With Electoral College
With others for office should fairly contend;
Remove electoral college and rules amend;
Take a gander,
At gerrymander;
We must only use popular vote in the end.

Electoral vision
New nation every 3-6 years.
Short term vision
30% action, 70% corruption.
Long term vision
From reach to reef.
Political will
From trash to cash.
Leaders should be exemplars
Not exempted.

The electoral college for President I say
Forget the humans
The electoral college is the real hero
Always making sure that many of our votes never count
What a treasure
A national phenomenon
That has ruined most of our lives
One non-vote at a time

How fickle the electoral wind!
only yesterday a sure winner
but now a picture of despair.
Experience means nothing,
rhetorical prowess is best,
more like elocution contest.
Lack of substance is alright,
just talk and you are made
or end up politically dead.

"Politicians are a lot like diapers. They should be changed frequently, and for the same reasons." Mark Twain . (For some reason bizarre this is my favourite quote ever)
Trump is now POTUS
'electoral dysfunction'
stormy days ahead!

Memorial for Electoral College
An adjective to describe college was electoral;
Did decide to kill it and then create memorial;
Finally at last,
By has passed,
And end result of this proved to be historical.
Electoral college has definitely been in favor
of a Republican President.

I would not dare
because free speech is no longer allowed
and I fear Trump's S.S.
we never were a democracy
the electoral college forced us to be a republic
now we are a monarchy; bow down to the king
he is following Hitler's pattern book
separating the country
The goosestepping is not far off

(looking at all the signs on the grassy hill
while waiting for a red light)
a.“gee, ya think it’s an election year?”
b.“ya know andy, i don’t know whether it’s
an election year, or whether they’re just
sellin’ somethin’.”
a.“wow. there it is, the american electoral
process in a nutshell! kudos mom, kudos."

Let’s qualify voters.
What do you mean?
Since the Electoral College is here to stay
A system put into place by slave owners,
And no one tore it down with the statues,
Let’s make up our own rules.
Like what?
Let’s make voters take I.Q. Tests.
If they get below sixty-five percent, they cannot vote.
Can we still vote for the Electoral College?
Sure.
Okay.

How did I land in Kansas?
Who plunked me here?
Smack in the middle of the USA?
A state where my vote will never count.
Thanks to the Electoral College
What was I thinking when I arrived?
Now I remember. I was thinking of my grandchildren.
Wanting to be closer.
The land of Dorothy, Toto, the Tinman and tornadoes
Wizard of Sunflowers and I am in an earth-sheltered house.
Voting is not everything.

New Zealand is more progressive and fair than most nations
in 1893, she was the first country to give women the right to vote.
a right that makes sense in every country except America.
where your vote might never count,
until the electoral college is abolished.
an archaic system that ensures the wealthy get more say
New Zealand looks better than ever these days.
a democracy is so much more appealing than a republic.

The Fed's interest increase today
Could change the election in play
Their latest rate rise
Is meddling in disguise
And Republicans say hooray!
Author's note: Do we believe the Fed didn't realize inflation was a problem until recently? They didn't raise rates during the previous administration--OMG that would have made the T-rumpasaurus look bad. They could have held off this month, but this way they can bias the electoral process.

When the monopoly game rings out
Who stands stubborn pushing their clout?
Where does reality bounce?
On the chessboard of hope and change
Taxes rearranged, fiat shuffling
Help the sick and needy
The court jester needs buffering
I'm calling the foolhardy bluff
That redistricts citizen electioneering
The jibe is up
Career politicians dancing with time
While TV auctions stamp the mind
We must participate
In the creation of our own lives
Hatchet the grid that chants otherwise
