to dawn coat and gloves
scarves and boots and woolen caps
earmuffs and face masks
Pry open the frozen door 
and step outside
wait thirty seconds for the dog to pee
and run back into the house

So many have tried but she cannot hear them
She wears her blinders and her earmuffs as a badge
I understood right away, what she was about.
It is her way; I respect it too.
My way is the opposite way, but it is clearly my way.
So I allow her to have her way.
I watch the rest of the lunch bunch try to persuade her.
They want her to change her opinion and embrace their ways.
