Three Shawls For My Babies
Once
My adoring eyes worked alongside my nimble fingers
To gently swaddle your tiny frame in a
Soft White shawl

Now
The same two eyes and hands check you wear you're seat belt
Before you drive off

And wave...

Premium Member Sunset
Mosquitoes subsiding
we torque the last nut
air it up
check the pressure
and gently replace the wheel cover.

Drenched in sweat
with bumpy skin having

satiated the skeeters

we drive off into the sunset
to test our work.

It works!
So do we.

Cool Cars
In my burb, cool cars are superstars,
They never seem to travel far,
They drive off to the bottle shop,
Head off home, dodging the cops,
Maybe they seek lively young babes,
I think the ho's are laughing away,
Your fun police I am not,
Another trip to the bottle shop,
I do not care where your mufflers are,
Cool cars here are superstars!...

         Pound sand
         Ain’t it grand
          Conundrum

     Hit the bricks
     Pay for your fix
       Conundrum

         Drive off a cliff
         Life is an IF

The Life
The birds in the sky
inspire you to take a flight.
Drive off all heavy memories
and make your heart light.

Troubles make you rigid.
Seasons can't affect you a lot.
But you have to awake your senses
Life is not just what you thought.

Feel every change in nature,
whether it is great or small.
Life is to live cheerfully
not to pass at all....

Though few drive off-road in their truck
Pick-up owners have run amok
Having a tail gate
Their mood will elate
While the cabin carries a schmuck

Author's note: A pass to those folks who use their truck for business on a regular basis. However, a status truck reveals a weak mind and hurts the environment more than a "normal" car. Those are already bad enough....

When Your Sober and When You Drink
When your sober.
You are fun.
You are goofy. and dorky.
I love you that way.

When you drink
You are mean.
You scare me.
I don't know what to do when you are drunk.
Do you do it just to have fun?

I love it when you are Sober.
You act a lot older.

When you drink.
It causes me to think.
About who you are.
And why you get into a car.
And drive off to a bar....

Marriage
I look at you and I don't want you
Stopped needing your kiss and touch
Needed you to love me for me
Tried to get you to do your part
Make memories and cherish those made
Buried in depression
Covered in guilt and pain
Still I stayed
Looking for a way out
Wanting to be anywhere but here
Going across the bridge I want to drive off
Fly into the sky
Fall into the river below
'Til death do us part...

A Morning Moment
A morning moment

The owner of a black cat
Sits on a chair by the open door, on the shady side of the road
Reading yesterday’s paper.
The moggy opens its eyes they are like a creamy zabaglione
When I walk past.
The feline sees me then closes its eyes again.
The owner of the cat gets up with tail erect
Marches into the house
The door closes
The man starts up his scooter drive off in a haze of sunlight....

The Day of the Wilted Flower of Lost Love
relocation to relative nature
dislocation of our too distant love
affirmation of the fact that it is all officially over
confirmation as you drive off into your moving on and i continue in my remaining in the same
vindication that love is not always everlasting
destination yet to be named until all minds are cleared
imagination running wild....hoping what was once the norm....will soon return
evaluation telling me that it actually will not be so...

Premium Member Under the Overpass
I am the man who sits under the overpass.
I'm just a blink when traffic is moving,
but more closely-eyed when cars go by slow.

Some pause in inquiry, wanting to know if I'm okay.
Others pull over and offer help to me,
to which I say,
I am fine.

They drive off bewildered,
pondering their comparative, comfortable lives.

They cannot understand why I do what I do.
To every person in every car that passes by,
I say,
I'm not sitting here for me,
I'm sitting here for you....

When you become unclued your face begins to frown when you start to sweat
your hair fails out when you become angry your voices begins to crack glass
When you don't answer your phone your bills mount sky high

That's when you have become unglued

Finally I just drive off knocking down trees try
it try to catch me oh well what the hell I just
became unglued

Now this is it it's all in the pan it's all over it's
Wireless
