Indoor
Green plants brighten
Dreary light coming through
My windows, dirtied by the snow
And rain....

I once had a buddy named Bob
He was an unbearable slob
I pressed him a suit
And dressed him up cute
He dirtied it quickly, the knob....

Dirtied In Silent Appearance
Gray diamonds are murky in color Dirtied in silent appearance
Gray diamonds are rarely worn, or spoken of, they are somewhat silent in that regard, you know, not loud or noticed....

Swimming In the Lake
I've pictured myself in the woods with the
tall trees,
sparkling lakes,
crumbled leaves,
and dirtied flakes.
I've pictured myself swimming in that lake with the
scaly fish,
splash and splish,
and mud and mire
within the water empire....

Blue Jeans
tattered
and torn
these old jeans
like a frayed soul
beyond repair
still catch eyes
of onlookers
as i walk by

patches
hide the threads
and worn out seams
from view

dirtied
then washed
with tears
yet stains
remain

some things
can”t be cleaned
nor replaced...

Passes By
A look to the left,
Through a dirtied cracked window,
I spy life passing by,
Why, Why not I.

For arrested in my chair am I,
Absent key, absent drive,
Desire to be as they
To be happy, to thrive

How do I?
Static unchanged is my life.
My eyes adopt others lives,
In hopes one day

Their lives to me, revive....

Premium Member Everyday Heros
Wild country,
Pools of dead water
Glen of scrub and brown brambles
Snow dirtied by traffic and by
Mud thrown up by passing trucks
Farmland , where cattle and sheep huddle
And old homesteads bravely smoking chimneys
Harsh winter farming,
Survival
A dying breed
Working to make a living
The life
Of everyday heros...

Funhouse
i live in a funhouse mirror-
your reality i only see a
sliver of, cornered by a
lacking void. i ache &
break & fake my face to
smile, i want to wash
the body i dirtied. i see
you coming, too quick i
scurried past, drastic
attempt to make the
moment last- but my
vision is covered in smoke
a mired joke, tired &
tangled in time....

Josephine and Jaffar
What's left but a cripple?
Angry and Sarcastic,
Weathered lips
Bitten bloody
In the cold
January Fix.
Entered in a
Plummeting
Dirtied Drunk Mix.
Tasting;
Leaves,
Wheat and sheaves,
Daughters of Eves,
Feasts for Kings,
And other things.
Wetted tongues on
Driftless streets.
Heated talk with
Patterned
Beats.
When what
Appears to lifeless
Is suddenly up for sale....

The Scent of Vanilla
Cooking with garlic and oil
Chopping peppers and chives
Crinkling aluminum foil
Running water over dirtied knives

Cutting boards strawberry stained
Slicing apples and poaching pears
Steamy facials from pasta drained
Sizzling pops like lightning flares

Piping a French buttercream rosette
Cracking eggs with no loose shell
Waiting for lime jello to set
But nothing beats the most delicious smell

The scent of vanilla...

Blown Out Flame
Colorless flowers lay across
Look at what you have caused
Dirtied T-shirt
Bloodied by the hurt
battered by the shame
with only you to blame
Heart shattered above
Soul sourced below
A lonely stone
that only you could throw
Flooded thoughts
none that we've fought
slain to rest
Such a beautiful mess
if only you cleaned
The ship wouldn't of wrecked
the dog would of fetched
But the flame went out too soon
oh yes
the flame was blown out
By you...

Premium Member Thanksgiving Dinner
I roasted stuffed turkey, made candied yams,
Made holiday jello, baked pies, dirtied pans.

Made mashed potatoes to cover with gravy,
Glazed carrots and biscuits, I'm cooking like crazy.

My daughter came over with grandchild in tow,
Giving my holiday that much needed glow.

I love the holidays and gathering with family.
It's so good to see everyone gathering happily,

Laughing and joking and sharing good cheer.
I wish more would come celebrate with all of us here....
