Blue Jeans

tattered and torn these old jeans like a frayed soul beyond repair still catch eyes of onlookers as i walk by patches hide the threads and worn out seams from view dirtied then washed with tears yet stains remain some things can”t be cleaned nor replaced

The sisterhood of the unraveling pants? Another poignant portrait from your poetic paintbrush. Congrats on #1. Hugs ~ John

Thank you John... sometimes i get bored waiting on the kids, summer, even fall offer lots to pen... winter the imagination has to think of something...my jeans became the thing to pen about that day... glad you liked it... hugs

Jean,s what would we do without them - a must in everyone's wardrobe - love your comparison to life! One day out shopping with my torn jeans, a little girl turned to her mother and said, 'Mummy shame that lady can't afford new jeans, should we give her some money to buy a new pair? Blessings, Jennifer.

Thank you my friend...the worn out ones are most comfortable...that's a funny story, love it! one year a child on my bus told me it was her mom's birthday the next day it was my birthday also the same day as her moms so i told her it was my special day as well, she asked if i was having cake and i said no...she made her mom bake me a cake and gave it to me that next morning so i would have a cake too...kids are so cute and say the cutest things...if adults were more like them the world would be a better place....hugs and blessings to you...

Great analogy. Seems to be the trend now. Sometimes tattered and torn is comfortable, even with our souls.

Beautiful, deep emotional poem, Sandra, you do have the talent to whip words to have lots of meaning. I never wore a pair of jeans until my 30s when I met my husband. Now ever so often I will wear a pair.

Thank you so much Eve...i never wore them in my younger years either...i always preferred dresses and skirts... i bought one pair my senior year of high school just to have them...i guess once i had kids i started wearing them more often... i still wore lots of dresses and skirts to work (yes while driving the bus) even in the winter with leggins under them...after my time off from work for a slip and fall injury in snow and ice (with $500 ski boots) when i returned back to work i started wearing more and more jeans...took on part time retail work and got great discounts on them too... have a great weekend... hugs

There is nothing better than a worn out, faded, frayed pair of favorite blue jeans except maybe a beautiful woman wearing them. :) Loved this my friend, a fashion statement that reveals a bit about life as well. This was the perfect fit.

Hello Sandra Adams, i live in my blue jeans to. My jeans do not have holes.Nor are they washed out. When they begin to lose color and worn out I then throw them out. Have a nice day my friend.
