Everyday Heros

Wild country, Pools of dead water Glen of scrub and brown brambles Snow dirtied by traffic and by Mud thrown up by passing trucks Farmland , where cattle and sheep huddle And old homesteads bravely smoking chimneys Harsh winter farming, Survival A dying breed Working to make a living The life Of everyday heros

I thought of my Dad when I read this. He was a farmer all his life. It's true, they're a dying breed. Thanks for the good memory. Hugs!!

Finally, hard toil gets the credit deserved, Carrie! I live in the Midwest of the U.S. and know full well the harsh lifestyle that puts food on our table. This tribute to the everyday heroes serves a worthy goal with great success. Warm regards, John

Being from KY I would glady agree. Give the farmer a break and some appreciation. If not for them the government would have total control of our food supply. Can I get an amen! They're made of tough stuff. Laurie
