It is oppressively hot it as summer
refuses to leave the stage and is overacting badly,
to be a walk-on actor or a decoration in play

It was my surprise - decoration of her hallway
But someone told her
Let the cat out of the dog
And the wallpaper and paint mixture was
Dead as a dado
But if I find the scoundrel who told
He’ll be in a hearse of a different color
