Pirate On Deck

I can dress up like a pirate
in a hat, an eye patch
a peg leg and a hook for a left hand
settling on an island paradise
drinking coconut water and hoarding gold
while still having a mermaid as my best friend

On Deck

Parents gone, what the heck
Now I find, I'm on deck.

Siblings three follow me, how can it be
that I'm on deck.

Eldest one, not much fun
to be the one on deck.

Would I rather them than me,
No, I think I'll let it be
me...on deck.

All Hands On Deck

as there is no was ,in recongnition
of status,or rely on previous laurel
whose standard is foredone and
broken,so shld each soul treasure
the name in one hand alone.
who does solitary shun,and loves
with i to build the most concrete of
marks,come forth with both hands,as i,
we shall carve the fortress that disunity disdains

Deck of Cards

The king doesn't appreciate
      castle,
      the lady doesn't adore it
      of court,
      the jack is not brave
      in war,
      Joke doesn't have any
      grace ...!
      The numbers are only valid
      when they are playing,
      and the player only wins
       when his luck
in the game does not launch ...!

Roll On the Deck

Two am., I’m up again
Staying asleep befuddles me
Needing to flip the switch at the main
And turn off my mind you see
What wheels do turn
Screech round then stop
My head doth burn
Like flames atop
The buried truth
Must eventually come out
I drink the vermouth
Washed down with a stout
Easier to lob off my neck
And see my face roll on the deck

Card From the Deck

Sometimes we draw, the card from the deck, a pain in de rissole, painful as heck, fate fakes the magic, And fatal we swoon, prearranged so tragic ironic the tune, till we do our time in the sack, no escape no going back, till we escape from the light of the moon? a sanity attack, and over all too soon, alas and bloody alack... don

Premium Member crocs have comandered Deck on Moonlight Bay

the crocs are lined up on moonlight bay
drinking hot toddies, what else can I say?
they have their beach chairs lined up in a row
the ducks are excited, and morbidly so

the crocs are no longer satisfied with the water
they have commandeered the deck said my daughter
the tourists are fleeing, terrified by this sight.
I know because I saw it for myself last night.

Life Is Like a Deck of Cards...

You don’t deal with the hand that you were dealt, its all in how you Play with the
hand you were dealt.

Optimal words “Deal” and “Play”.

If you deal with it, you may never win, never overcome, never achieve higher
levels.

But if you play, you will lose some, you will win some, therefore you become a
Player of life and not live a life whereby you are Played.

On the Deck

Chipmunks scamper; bees buzz by.
Gaily flits a butterfly.
Caterpillar moves a notch;
On my bench I sit and watch.

Nuthatch calls and near my ear
Mosquitoes let me know they're here.
Hummingbird stops by to drink;
From my perch I pause and think.

In the city, people stream
But here, I'm all alone to dream.
Nature beckons; with delight
I answer with the words I write.

Premium Member Morning On the Deck

Blue skies filled with clouds of white
Warm sun shining bright.
Heat radiates off the deck
A warm breeze brushes the hair across my neck.
Birds chirp and sing in the trees
Hidden from view by the green leaves.
The water in the pond reflects hues of green and blue
I breathe deep and take in the glorious view.
Refreshed and renewed, nature has a way
Of helping refocus the plans of the day.

Smoke Deck

Left to right,
An arrow of longevity,
One long horn
Echoing in the darkness,
A signal
For the wary seafarer.

Left to right,
On the edge of an invisible plane,
Forbidden fruit
Lay beyond the reach of the crippled.
What is there
Beyond a picketed horizon?

Left to right,
From three bird’s eyes,
Triangulation,
Becomes intended movement.
A broken table
No longer bears two dimensions.

FROM MY DECK

From the view of our deck stands the Willow tree,
With weeping shadows as the wind sets her free.
In the night's light she doesn't seem like a tree,
But appears like a dancer bending at knee.

Hearing only the slightest rustle, the wind stirs her leaves,
Like a gentle shaking from a gentle breeze,
No other tree moves so freely in the wind,
Like the mighty Willow that never breaks, only bends.

Premium Member CARD MAGIC

The deck of cards seemed alive in my hands.
I loved the whisper of shuffling, and
the way kings and queens stared back,
their faces older than anything I knew.

I built castles from fanned-out suits,
believing they could hold real wishes.
Every card I turned felt like a doorway~
a little spell I was certain I had cast.

Premium Member Deck Chairs and Boats

A snail crosses
along a razor's edge,
from it's past, complete.
To it's futures, separate.
And just before it's twin selves
slide down the opposite sides
of a steely wall
it's last thought
captures the totality
of it's trek.
The atom in the
quantum corral,
a mirage of the discrete,
or a sum total of all?
Deck chairs and boats
in a Duchampion universe.
How would our own years
be viewed,
ninety degrees
from the razor's edge?
