Captain Dies In Ship

The angry wrath of the waves tonight
Thrashed against the Captain's ship
No tranquility, death is near
Damaging winds, sink ship
A brave captain gone
Buried below
With his ship
Now at
Peace

Addicted

Afraid of letting go
Destruction I have caused
Damaging my body
Illegal behavior
Convincing myself it’s okay
Toxic life choices
Estranged I have become
Denying the truth

That I am Addicted.

What Choice Written: by Tom Wright 3/7/2016 What alternative is this of either love or hate? Love is the spring day to which we all relate. Hate forever causes our inner being to seethe, Damaging our heart each breath we breathe.

Smile the Solution

words are just like stones
if thrown they hurt too
not all words are bad
and stones have good use
it’s how we use them

words yelled and screamed
verbal abuse
is damaging
causing some harm

try kindness
with a smile
it will work

laughter
brings peace

Smile

Toxic Time Bombs

"What are toxic time bombs?"
I wonder, with no aplomb,
Old garbage and refuse tips,
Legacy landfills, full of blip,
Damaging environmentally,
So much for sustainability,
All the overflow of society,
How do we correct such wrongs?
All those toxic time bombs........

Compliments

COMPLIMENTS

A compliment can change the way,
The recipient will spend their day.
Lifting moods in times of need,
A pay it forward type of seed.
To criticize and pick apart,
It's damaging to one's heart.
So make an effort to be kind,
You never know what friends you'll find!!!

Everyone cannot clearly see
Messy Objects, drama, pain or abuse
Tearing tortuous rips
Into emotions
Or
Named
Attacks
Lacking its regard for your soul.
Severe pain often is
Covered by a smile
And
Rages
Scornfully about dragging damaging painful scars on emotions.

Broken Strings

Broken strings

A thoughtless crime
Someone has committed
To my violin.

String curled,
Bow bent like a pretzel,
The neck is in two.

Grief struck me
To find something so amazing
Destroyed from anger,
Surely someone must pay
For damaging my instrument.

I thought about it for a second...
I don't recall even owning a violin.

Damaged

If nothing I have tried
Tried and cried
To be rid of you

The past marks me
So much that I see
Marks me thrice

My past cannot be undone
No matter how far I run
You damaged me

In the present it consumes
My waking moments it doomes
You are damaging me

My future is bleak
Not even help that I seek
I'm forever damaged

The Matrix

My life is caught in the matrix,
Dodging bullets of pain and passion,
Choose red pill,
Or green pill,
I ingested both with a glass of dirty water,
Damaging my system,
No Neo, Trinity, or Morpheus,
To save the day,
I am immortal,
Only to those who can't harm me,
0010011,
The coding of my life,
Even I can't understand it...

Tired

Tired of broken pencils flying at me.
Their graphite claws reaching
For my saddened heart.

Tired of the children’s cries.
As their frustrations stab
Into my tangled mind.

Tired of communication
Yelling of hatred pierce
My infected ears.

Tired of living in negativity.
Damaging my health broken
As well as my damned spirit.

Debating the Past

debating past issues
over and over again
is damaging to the
core of everything
that is true and good
within this life's purpose
continually acting without
positive regard for the
future selves well-being
is a sure fire way of creating
a future of unwanted stress
and strain that will utlimately
bring distress to the future self
Form: Lyric

Luv

Love is a choice
Love is an act
Yet I thrive for my love
to feel my re-acts
Need I stand back
Before I attach this tack to his back.

Love not there; acts of damaging scares
Why can't I see
All this chaos filtering through me
Positive thoughts, Negative acts

In my era of despair
I race to His face
filled with grace
Faith opens gates
My fate awaits...
Form:

Silence

Speechless, a non-word thinking
silence in the air
knowledgeable, within reasons
wiser, with words of wisdom
in a view of knowing how to speak
what words to say
as the day by day exists
in the moment with words of encouragements
not damaging to the one that is in most need
the trust builds in
a seed planted
in truth, and with honesty
silence before words is spoken.

I Know Me

I am aware of what i look like.
I am in 'the know' of all that i am,
I know me.

You fail to realize that your words,
Are sharp, piercing and toxic.
Toxic and damaging to the ears; the heart.

Do you understand that your words, pierce flesh?
Do you understand that your words hurt?

Do you comprehend, the words i speak?
I know me, i know that i am what you see.
I know.

Pain

Pain is strong
With fear that drags along
It dances on your side
And trys to take your pride
Pain digs in your soul
Whether it feel like a damaging knife
It can't and will not take your life

Pain is just a thought
That hides in your brain
It will tear at your heart
With nothing to gain
That's why I learned
That pain
Just Is
Don't let it control you
Like a broken promise

We are told to love,
Even though love broke us,
We are told to be kind,
When our own left us depleted,
We are told to be selfless,
Then we end up with nothing,
What are we suppose to do,
When everything instilled in you,
Is every reason you've been destroyed,
You can't even recognize your face,
Do we reemerge to what was taught to be wrong,
Or continue on and damaging ourselves
