Notes About The Poem

I recently found out someone I am close to has terminal cancer. I do not think all cancer diagnoses are grim or hopeless. I know people who have conquered this awful disease and are cancer free today. I hope someday we can find a cure so that everyone can survive this awful disease.

Cancer

Cancer
A scary
Shocking
Consuming
Evil

Like black mold
Growing
In our walls
Spreading

Inside us
Hidden 
Damaging

Changing
Many Lives 

Forever
